Day 1b of the 2015 Unibet Open Glasgow Main Event was completed on Sunday, and it was another day of superb poker action inside Celtic Park football stadium. By the time late registration closed at the end of the fourth 60-minute level, 115 entries had been taken, meaning the total attendance over the two starting flights jumped to 221.

While Day 1a was all about Daniel Chutrovs one-man wrecking spree, one that resulted in him bagging up an unbelievable 539,500 chips at the end of nine levels, Day 1b was more of a slow burner, although there was one monster-sized stack to count at the close of play, that of Wenbin Chen.

Chen finished the night with an impressive stack of 370,000 and goes into Mondays Day 2 in second place overall. By his own admission, Chen ran extremely well and was picking up more than his fair share of premium hands throughout proceedings. Only time will tell if he can keep stacking chips and if Lady Luck stops shining down on him.

The second and final starting flight attracted some of pokers more established players including the United Kingdoms John Eames, the Netherlands former European Poker Tour Grand Final champion Pieter de Korver, Scottish online grinder Paul McTaggart and Denmarks Morten Mortensen. Of that quartet of names, only McTaggart and Mortensen progressed to Day 2 and theyre armed with 35,500 and 39,800 chips respectively.

Whoever wins the 800+80 buy-in Main Event walks away with a cool 43,000 for their efforts, a nice return on investment. A min-cash is worth 1,700 and the tournament will definitely be awarding its prize money before play ends on Day 2.

Day 2 kicks off at 11:00 a.m. local time on Monday and a decision will be made during the tournament as to how many levels are played. There was talk earlier of playing down to the final table, but this is yet to be confirmed. Rest assured, as soon as the information because official well relay it you you delightful folks at home.
