While most of the poker world's attention is on the 2015 World Series of Poker, things are heating up leading into the summer online in New Jersey with the WSOP.com Online Championships just getting underway this past weekend.
The WSOP.com Online Championships features 90 events from May 31 to June 29, boasting over $250,000 in combined guaranteed prize pools. Additionally, WSOP.com NJ is hosting a special leaderboard for the series, where the winner will walk away with an exclusive WSOP.com Online Champion's ring in a live ceremony at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino during the WSOP.
Jeremy "Jermz" Danger has an early start on the leaderboard by winning the biggest event thus far, the $15,000 GTD Online Championships Event #2 [Re-entry], for $4,350.
New Jersey's "Skip_2_My_Lou" was this week's biggest winner in the Garden State, as he outlasted the 246-player field in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee to win $10,000. The runner-up in this tournament was "ThreeBetYou," who banked $6,585 for his efforts.
Sean "im_that_guy" Sisco also had a huge weekend, winning the WSOP.com/888poker NJ Sunday $35,000 Guarantee for $9,450. "Dominat8r" finished in second place in this tournament, collecting a solid consolation prize of $5,513.
