WSOP Day 13: Phil Hellmuth Wins His 14th Bracelet; John Gale Captures His 2nd
Day 13 of the 2015 World Series of Poker proved to be an historic one as Phil Hellmuth captured his record-extending 14th WSOP gold bracelet. Meanwhile, John Gale topped the field in the turbo event, the Millionaire Maker field reached its final two tables, two Day 1's kicked off, and another event reached the money.

Phil Hellmuth does it again - captures 14th bracelet
Phil Hellmuth's closest call at the 2014 WSOP was in the $1,500 Razz event, where he finished runner-up to Ted Forrest. Hellmuth began that heads-up duel with about a 4:1 chip lead, but couldn't close it out.
Fast forward one year and one week and there was Hellmuth again - heads up for a razz bracelet. Though, this time it was in Event #17: $10,000 Razz Championship. Bracelet winner Mike Gorodinsky was in Hellmuth's way this time, but the now 14-time bracelet-winner battled back from a heads-up deficit to make history once again.
"It's an amazing feeling, and it's one of those where I kept my head down the whole time and tried to stay kind of detached from the result. I was just focusing on playing great," said Hellmuth after the win.

Gale Wins Second Gold Bracelet in the $1,000 Turbo
John Gale made a name for himself in the mid 2000's, winning the 2005 PCA Main Event, finishing second for a bracelet in 2005 and winning a bracelet at the 2006 WSOP. Recently, though, Gale has had health problems that have prevented him from partaking in the WSOP.
"I've missed the last three WSOPs, and I've been miserable as hell every time. I'm just so thrilled to be back here even though my doctor told me I shouldn't fly."
Gale topped a field of 1,791 players to capture his second bracelet in Event #18: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo, and he isn't taking it for granted.
"This is wonderful, and this is unexpected. In 2006, I was probably arrogant and expected it. Sort of dismayed the year before when I didn't get it heads up. So yeah, it meant an awful lot that first one, but the second one, it feels wonderful. It's absolutely fantastic."

Randy Pfeifer Leads Stacked Final 17 of the Millionaire Maker
The starting field of 7,275 players is down to just 17 in Event #16: Millionaire Maker $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. Randy Pfeifer leads and is followed by a talented bunch that includes Erick Lindgren, David Miscikowski, Olivier Busquet, the WPT's Mike Sexton, Floridians Sheddy Siddiqui and Ian O'Hara, and Andrew Lichtenberger.
Play resumes at 11 A.M. local time Tuesday and will continue until a champion is crowned. Here are the chip counts for the remaining 17 players.

Stammen Leads the Final 22 of the $3,000 Limit Hold'em Six-Handed
Day 2 of Event #19: $3,000 Limit Hold'em Six-Handed resumed on Monday with 160 players returning from the starting field of 319. After 10 levels, only 22 players remain and WSOP bracelet winner Keven Stammen leads the pack. Also still in the hunt are bracelet winners Brian Hastings, David Chiu, and Ronnie Bardah, as well as Matt Hawrilenko, who returned to the WSOP after skipping the 2014 WSOP.
The top 36 places paid and notable finishes in the money include Daniel Negreanu (25th - $6,226) and Mark Newhouse (26th - $6,226).
The remaining 22 players will attempt to play down to a winner starting at 2 P.M. Tuesday.
Valentin Vornicu Leads After Day 1 of Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em
After 11 Day 1 levels, a field of 1.844 has been whittled down to 272 players in Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.
Valentin Vornicu is on top of the chip counts with 212,000, followed by Natasha Barbour with 147,100. Others who bagged stacks on Day 1 include Andy Frankenberger (89,600), Kevin MacPhee (67,300), Taylor Paur (62,200), Greg Mueller (61,700), reigning WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson (45,700) and Shannon Shorr (42,600).
Event #21: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship Kicks Off; Tuttle and Schneider Lead After Day 1
Another World Championship event is underway at the WSOP. Event #21: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship began on Monday afternoon and when registration closed, 157 players had signed up. Only 101 bagged and tagged by night's end and leading the way into Day 2 are Scott Tuttle (172,300) and Tom Schneider (162,800), well out in front of the rest of the field.
Day 2 commences at 2 P.M. Tuesday afternoon.
