Playboy Poker To Shut Down on July 27: Here's What You Need to Know
Nearly two years after its re-launch, Playboy Poker is set to go offline again, as representatives from the site announced that the poker room will cease to operate on Monday, July 27.
Citing a "business decision" as the reason for the room's shutdown, a representative from Playboy Poker told PokerNews that the players will have until July 27 to withdraw any funds they may have deposited into their gaming accounts.
"All players can still log in and can play out any remaining money," the room's representative explained. "Alternatively, they can choose to withdraw their funds. Currently, we can guarantee that withdrawals will be processed within 24 hours of their requests."
The representative stated that "all the active accounts will remain open until July 27," but said that after that, accounts will be closed out and funds will be forfeited if not claimed within 30 months.
Although the representative stressed the importance of withdrawing any money currently held Playboy Poker before July 27, it was confirmed to PokerNews that the site's customer support will continue to help the online players after the closure.
"Those players who will still have money on their accounts after July 27 will have to contact us via email at [email protected] to proceed with a withdrawal," the representative said. "We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to our community."
Although the poker room claimed to have a staff composed by "handsome men and beautiful women who are totally committed to making sure that our users are offered a gaming experience impossible to find elsewhere," Playboy Poker never managed to become a significant player since the site's re-launch in mid 2013.
Despite a number of interesting Playboy-related promotions that allowed some lucky winners to spend quality time at London's Playboy Club, most of the room's other initiatives went unnoticed or were canceled for "technical difficulties," as it happened to the Halloween-themed slots race originally scheduled to run between Oct. 15-31, 2015.
For more information about the closure of the poker room and the best ways to withdraw funds from Playboy Poker, you can contact the operator's customer support service via email at [email protected].
