The World Poker Tour National Events Kickoff in Both Marrakech and Valkenburg
The World Poker Tour National (WPTN) heads to both Morocco and the Netherlands this week, providing great value to recreational and professional poker players alike.
The PMU.fr WPTN Marrakech festival kicked off its 24-event poker festival on Saturday, Sept. 26 with a 275 WPTN Opening Event. Marrakech is the fourth largest city in Morocco, and poker players visiting for the first time should be enthralled by the deep history and majestic views that appear just about everywhere you look. This may be most true at the Es Saadi Gardens & Resort, where the poker festival is taking place.
The highlight of the poker series is the 1,200 WPTN Main Event, where players will compete for three days in hopes of grabbing a share of the guaranteed 300,000 prize pool. The Main Event provides players with plenty of opportunities to be deep-stacked throughout the tournament with 30,000 in starting chips and a structure featuring one-hour blind levels.
The location of the casino in Valkenburg offers opportunities for players to travel from a number of countries including Belgium, Germany, France, and of course, Holland itself.
In addition, there are many other exciting events ranging from satellites starting as low as 30 all the way up to the 2,000 High Roller event. Additionally, the casino will be offering ring game action around the clock in no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha, and Chinese-poker formats.
Over in the Netherlands, the WPTN Valkenburg kicks off its action-packed six-event schedule on Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m. with the WPTN Valkenburg High Roller Satellite. This tournament features a 200 buy-in, with winners receiving a seat into the two-day 1,500 WPTN Higher Roller starting the following day on Sept. 30. The High Roller is expected to provide players with a great experience with a huge 50,000-chip starting stack and 40-minute blind levels.
However, as you might expect, the highlight of the poker festival is the 750 WPTN Valkenburg Main Event, which includes two starting flights and four days of action in total. This marks the second time the WPTN has visited Valkenburg, and last year the Main Event sold out in short order. The tournament begins the first of its two opening days at the Holland Casino Valkenburg on Oct. 1, and will conclude on Oct. 4 once a winner is determined.
Of course those who hit the rail can enjoy the mountainous views the city provides, or since the city is very close to Belgium and Germany and just a two-hour drive to Amsterdam, players can explore a bit more of the region.
"I am thrilled that we have renewed the partnership with World Poker Tour and are continuing to offer our players a global poker experience in Holland Casino Valkenburg," said Holland Casino Valkenburg Director No?l Leise. "The location of the casino in Valkenburg offers opportunities for players to travel from a number of countries including Belgium, Germany, France, and of course, Holland itself."
