It seems like each time we pen the UK & Ireland PokerNews Round-Up we start with the line "what a week," and this latest edition is no different because what a week it was.

Last week's Round-Up mentioned a plethora of live tournaments taking place in the UK and Ireland, with a couple of those being in play as the article went live. Those events are now done and dusted, with Fintan Gavin walking away with the top honors in the Mega Poker Series Dublin Main Event and Dermot Allen ensuring that the Redbet LIVE Dublin winner's trophy stayed in the Emerald Isle.

Across the Irish Sea and to Stoke now, where Pia Jeppesen became only the second female to win a Genting Poker Series (GPS) event when she topped a field of 283 to claim the title and 30,660. The only other female GPS champion is Ellie Biessek, who won the Newcastle leg in 2013.

Another major live event is currently running, the 2015 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Luton Main Event. Day 1a finished on thursday night with the 2007 GUKPT Luton winner, David Clark, bagging the most chips. Day 1b takes place on Friday, with the champion crowned on Sunday, Sept. 20.

Lastly, for live poker at least, is the news that the World Poker Tour is heading back to the UK in November for a 16-day festival at Dusk Till Dawn. The 2,200 buy-in 1 million guaranteed WPT UK Main Event takes place after the 1 million guaranteed WPT500 UK. Both events should attract some of the bigger names in the business.

To the world of online poker and our headline story of Billy Chattaway and Andy Taylor helping themselves to career-best scores this week thanks to excellent results in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).

Chattaway walked away with more than $260,000 when he finished fourth in in the $10,300 High Roller, while Taylor eclipsed that amount and won $273,850 and a WCOOP bracelet after winning the WCOOP edition of the Sunday Million.

Taylor and Chattaway weren't the only big winners this weekend because Patrick Leonard won his first WCOOP title on the same night that Oliver Price final tabled three Sunday majors on the eve of his 24th birthday. It is safe to say that the Brits are tearing up the virtual felt right now.

Someone else making a name for themselves in the online poker world is Anna Duxbury, also knows as "DuckRatMe." We sat down with Duxbury last week after discovering that she not only crushes the Spin & Go tournanents at PokerStars, but she does so while juggling being a single mother to two girls. Oh, and she beat cancer twice, too. It's an incredible story that you can read more about here.

Don't forget to head to our UK & Ireland PokerNews site each and every day to keep up-to-date with all the goings on in the UK & Ireland poker worlds. Over the weekend there will be recaps of the GUKPT Luton Main Event action, so if you know someone playing in that be sure to check those out.
