As the winter months approach in most of the world, many poker players have headed back to their computers to play online. In response to this, the world's second largest real-money online poker network, 888poker, has increased its posted guarantees on many of its most popular tournaments.

The changes should benefit all low-, mid-, and high-stakes poker players alike as guaranteed prize pools have increased on a wide variety of tournaments.

Low-stakes players are now guaranteed to play for bigger money in five different tournaments with a buy-in of $5 or less. For example, the $3 buy-in $2,500 Mega Micro received a 20-percent boost in guaranteed money and is now the $3,000 Mega Micro.

Mid-stakes players will be able to enjoy a larger prize pool in six different tournaments ranging in buy-ins from $13.20-$55. The $13.20 buy-in $25,000 Thursday Challenge R&A guarantee was increased by 25 percent and is now known as the $30,000 Thursday Challenge R&A.

888poker didn't forget about high-stakes players either with guarantees increased on four different tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $109 to $600. The $20,000 Tuesday Crocodile with a $160 buy-in was boosted by 25 percent to become the $25,000 Tuesday Crocodile.

Head to Brazil in December at 888poker

The last stop in 2015 on the 888Live poker schedule will take place at the Football Mineir?o Stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil from Dec. 10-15. It isn't often that a live poker event will occur on a football pitch, and the year-end closeout should be one for poker players to remember.

The 888Live Brazil Main Event will feature a tournament with a reasonable R$490 ($124) along with a big posted guarantee of R$500,000 ($126,788). The event will be capped at 500 players, which will include some of the biggest names in the game including 888poker ambassadors Bruno Politano, Bruno Kawauti, and Nicholas Villa-Lobos.

In addition to the Main Event, players will be able to partake in a wide-variety of side events including a high roller, a turbo deep stack, a second-chance event, and a last-chance tournament.

Politano, who became the first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) November Nine member from Brazil, is understandably excited about 888Live coming to his home country.

"I'm thrilled to welcome 888live Local to Belo Horizonte and I am happy to be part of the most exciting poker festival in the world," Politano stated. "I look forward to meeting and competing against players from all around South America for a share of an amazing prize pool at this incredible location."
