Jens "Jeans89" Kyll?nen

No sooner was the 2015 World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) in the books then news broke that PokerStars was returning to the United States after being approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).

All the while, the nosebleed games were going strong on the world's biggest poker site. In that regard, no one did better online over the last week than Jens "Jeans89" Kyll?nen, who won $265,029 in 5,044 hands over 42 sessions. What's more, Kyll?nen set a record by becoming the biggest tracked winner in PokerStars nosebleed games since 2010 (which is when HighStakesDB began tracking such games). More on that below.

Meanwhile, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom was the week's biggest loser after dropping $242,933 in 2,022 hands over 28 sessions. Other losers included Jean-Robert "Jaqueline" Bellande (-$132,816 in 16 sessions/1,755 hands), Jason Mercier (-$85,061 in 17 sessions/1,258 hands), and Phil "Polarizing" Ivey (-$71,560 in 43 sessions/10,024 hands), who had actually gotten off to strong start early in the week only to fade down the stretch.

Phil Ivey Back-to-Back Biggest Winner of the Day After Big PLO Wins

On Thursday, September 24, Ivey finished as the day's biggest winner after profiting $154,900 in 745 hands of pot-limit Omaha and 8-Game. He kicked it off playing the former at $200/$400 for two hours in the early morning hours, losing $135,000 at one table but winning $196,700 at another. It was during this time that Ivey took down the biggest pot of the day.

It happened with four players seated when Blom ($68,035) raised to $1,720 only to have Ivey three-bet to $5,880 from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way, Blom made the call, and the flop came down 8?J?2?. Ivey bet $12,475, Blom called, and the 8? appeared on the turn. Ivey bet again, this time $16,400, and then called when Blom shoved all in for $49,680.

Ivey: J?J?Q?Q?
Blom: A?K?8?3?

Blom had turned trips, but he was drawing to the case eight as Ivey held a full house. The 10? river was no help to Blom, and he watched the $136,790 pot pushed to Ivey.

Phil Ivey

Later that night, Ivey was back at the 8-Games and over the course of two hours won $102,200 from Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov; however, after the clock ticked past midnight into Friday, the Russian managed to recoup $24,000.

Speaking of Friday, Ivey kept the ball rolling and finished as the biggest winner for the second day in a row. Heading into the weekend, Ivey spent 12 hours at the $100/$200 PLO tables, and he actually got off to a rough start dropping $140,000 in the first three hours. Still, he managed to win that back in 459 hands at table Nasl II, and then won an additional $108,200 in 433 hands at table Semirot. It was at the latter table Ivey won the biggest pot of the day.

It happened at a four-handed table when Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro ($79,437.40) opened for $860 under the gun and Ivey ($84,929) three-bet to $2,840 from the big blind. Kelopuro made the call, and the flop fell 9?6?4?. Ivey check-called a bet of $4,035.80 and then checked for a second time on the Q? turn. Kelopuro bet $11,065.21, Ivey check-raised to $47,202.23, and Kelopuro called to see the 5? river.

Ivey fired out $30,850.97, and Kelopuro called off his remaining $25,359.37 to create a pot of $159,134.80. Kelopuro rolled over the 9?6?10?7? for two pair, but it was no good as Ivey had turned trips with the Q?Q?J?J?, the same hand that allowed him to win Thursday's biggest pot.

"WRUUUUM" Wins Big; Kyll?nen Sets a Record

On the last day of the month, Wednesday, September 30, "WRUUUUM" finished as the day's biggest winner with $211,000 in profit from 971 hands of $100/$200 PLO where he squared off against the likes of Ivey, "BERRI SWEET," and Kyll?nen, just to name a few.

In the biggest pot of the day, action was four-handed when "WRUUUUM" ($74,132.50) folded under the gun, Ivey ($244,644.39) raised to $860 from the button, and "BERRI SWEET" ($126,840.84) called from the small blind. "fjutekk" ($58,330) then three-bet to $3,600, Ivey four-bet to $11,820, and "BERRI SWEET" got out of the way. "fjutekk" made the call and then checked the 10?7?2? flop. Ivey bet $24,655 and then quickly called when "fjutekk" check-raised all in for $46,510 total.

"fjutekk": 9?8?6?4?
Ivey: A?A?J?J?

Ivey held aces, but "fjutekk" was drawing strong to a wrap. The 8? turn completed "fjutekk's" straight, and he was pushed the $117,680 pot after the meaningless K? was put out on the river.

HighStakesDB was also quick to point out a landmark achieved by Kyll?nen, who won $156,000 in the game:

"After this win, Jeans PLO profit at PokerStars in games $50/$100 and above has gone over $5m since we started tracking in late 2010. He is the biggest tracked winner in PokerStars nosebleed games since that time, up $4.96m overall."

Congrats to Kyll?nen for the remarkable achievement!
