PokerStars Reduces Spin & Go Offer in Spain
While the world's largest poker room gets ready to introduce a number of significant changes to its VIP program in 2016, the players at PokerStars.es woke up to a reduced Spin & Go offer on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
As initially reported by Spanish online player Javier Rodriguez, the poker room has decided to cut some of the options available on its dot-es poker room, cutting the number of Spin & Go tournaments available on the platform nearly in half.
Starting this week, the most expensive Spin & Go available to the players who reside in Spain are of the 10 buy-in variety, as both 20 and 50 buy-ins have been removed.
Additionally, the cheapest option to sit in one of the lottery Spin & Go tournaments is now a 1 buy-in, as the poker room has removed the 0.25 events.
Asked by Rodriguez on Twitter, the poker room confirmed the changes but promised to launch new Spin & Go games during 2016.
"We have implemented some changes in the buy-ins and the prizes available in our Spin & Go games, and these are definitive ones." PokerStars explained. "However, we are preparing some new and exciting changes to our Spin & Go offer that we hope to announce in the near future."
As explained by the representative, the removal of the 0.25, 20, and 50 Spin & Go events is not the only change adopted this month, as the poker room decided to reduce the prize multiplier from 5,000 time to 1,000 time the buy-in, bringing the maximum amount to be won at the Spin & Go tables from 250,000 to 10,000.
