High-Stakes Poker Superstar Viktor Blom Winning Big On Microgaming Poker Network

If you are an avid follower of the high-stakes poker ring-game action on PokerStars, you likely noticed that one player has been noticeably missing for the most part. That player is Viktor "Isildur1" Blom.

According to HighStakesDB (HSDB), Blom has recorded nearly $3.6 million in profits this year on PokerStars, however, this is down from the peak of $4.95 million he reached by mid-October. However, Blom hasn't experienced nearly as much success on Full Tilt where he is down almost $1.4 million on the year. That being said, 2015 the year has been successful for Blom by just about any poker player's standards with over $2.2 million in net profits between the two sites.

While some poker fans speculated that Blom has maybe taken a break from online action, HSDB uncovered that this is not the case. Instead of playing the nosebleed games at PokerStars, Blom has instead been witnessed playing high-stakes pot-limit Omaha ring-games under the screenname "hrskar" on the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN).

While MPN hasn't been well known in the past for its ring-games, the site has been growing in leaps and bounds throughout the year. According to data provided by PokerScout, the ring-game traffic has grown by over 41 percent from 630 players based on a seven-day average on Dec. 15, 2014, to 890 players on Dec. 15, 2015. This is good enough to bring MPN into the top 10 trafficked sites, just ahead of Full Tilt, where Blom was once a site representative.

The network includes many different poker clients, including Betway and 24hBet.

While HSDB does not yet fully track ring games on MPN, its members have informed the poker community that Blom has been winning big at the $50/$100 and $100/$200 pot-limit Omaha tables. Just this past weekend alone, Blom was witnessed winning anywhere in the realm of $510,000-$550,000. It was reported that he won around $173,000 on Saturday and followed this up with an even bigger win of around $340,000 on Sunday.
