Chris Gordon and Kelly Saxby

The Hippodrome Casino is over 100 years old, but that doesnt stop Londons biggest casino constantly looking for new ways to innovate. The latest development? Their very own poker pro team.

The first two names in the Hippodromes initiative are Chris Gordon and Kelly Saxby. These two rising stars will be waving their new alma maters flag in the United Kingdom and Ireland (UKIPT) and Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT), along with playing in the Hippodrome's extensive series of tournaments and the PokerStars LIVE poker room located on the casino's last floor.

Gordon has multiple GUKPT and UKIPT cashes to his name, including three top 10 finishes, as well as a World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event cash and a World Poker Tour National win. Saxby came to prominence after winning the Women's Event in the European Poker Tour Season 10 London back in 2013. Saxby also boasts a number of WSOP, WPT and GUKPT cashes, including multiple final tables.

"Never before has an individual casino been represented by sponsored poker players," the Hippodrome's Head of Poker, Karryjane Craigie told PokerNews. "Chris and Kelly are the kind of players that we appeal to here at the Hippodrome. Anyone can come and play; these guys did and now they are playing regularly and successfully."

Dubbed "London's Biggest Night Out," the Hippodrome offers a mixture of gaming, theatre and dinner. Perched on the corner of Leicester Square, their doors open to one of the busiest streets in Europe. The entertainment is spread over four floors, with the PokerStars LIVE deck overlooking the rest of the action from above. We wish Chris and Kelly every success as they help take poker at The Hippodrome to the next level.
