Marcel Luske's FiDPA and MainEventTravel.com Join Forces to Launch FiDPA Travel
Traveling the poker circuit is no easy task. The logistics C including travel and accommodation C can be time consuming, which is why the Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FiDPA), which was cofounded by poker legend Marcel Luske, and MainEventTravel.com (MET) have joined forced to launch FiDPA Travel, a new website designed to offer convenience and value to those traveling the world poker circuit, be it players, staff or dealers.
"Having a travel site aligned with FiDPA is another step in working with the poker community and to help us promote the game, not only to established players, but also those who are new to our game," said Luske, who also serves as president of FiDPA.
The FiDPA was originally established with the intention of creating a comprehensive and standardized set of rules for every major poker tournament around the world. In 2013, the FiDPA released a set of International Poker (IP) Rules, along with a revamped website and free mobile app.
As for FiDPA Travel, the site will utilize MET's unique search engine to offer players a wide range of hotels and resorts for every stop on any tour. That will be followed in the near future with options to search for flights, car rental and tournament registration.
"The launch of this new partner website is the culmination of a huge collaborative effort by our respective teams," said MainEventTravel CEO Fraser MacIntyre. "We are now truly able to offer players a choice of hotels, and length of stay, at every event, with pricing in real time."
