Hollywood Poker Open St. Louis Kicks Off 33-Event Series Thursday
Season 4 of the Hollywood Poker Open continues Thursday with HPO St. Louis, a 33-event bonanza that lasts through March 20.
HPO St. Louis is the third of five Regionals this season, and it follows a very successful stop at HPO Toledo. There, the $1,115 Main Event drew a tour-record 323-player field, and the tournament was eventually won by Michael Ermie as part of a three-way chop. Ermie took home $60,017 and a $2,500 seat to the season-ending championship at M Resort in Las Vegas.
The Regional Main Event will once again be the big draw for HPO St. Louis, featuring the usual two starting flights and $1,115 price point. It begins Friday, March 18 and will carry a $150,000 guarantee. Players will begin with 20,000 in starting chips and play a tournament with a blind structure designed by industry veteran and HPO Director of Operations Bill Bruce.
For those itching for action sooner than that or operating on lower bankrolls, the stop will feature a number of buy-ins at lower price points starting Thursday, March 10 with a $235 no-limit hold'em tournament. There are also a pair of $300 deepstack events with multiple starting flights, the first one kicking off March 11. Finally, a number of Main Event satellites will run in the days leading up to the Main Event.

The Main Event winner won't be the only player getting a seat to the HPO Season 4 Championship. Both winners of the deepstack events will receive added seats as well. Plus, an additional seat will go to the player who accrues the most points on the Regional Leaderboard by placing in the featured events.
