It's been awhile since we've heard the name of 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Pius Heinz, especially when it comes to the German finding himself deep in a poker tournament. But, Heinz returned to the newswire thanks to a victory in the Eureka Poker Tour 5,300 Super High Roller at King's Casino in Rozvadov that saw him earn 44,814 in first-place prize money.

The event attracted 22 total entries, stemming from 16 unique players and six reentries, and the top four spots reached the money. Finishing behind Heinz to earn part of the 106,700 prize pool were Martin Kabrhel, Ivan Luca, and Ognjen Sekularac.

When Heinz won the WSOP Main Event in 2011, he defeated a field of 6,865 and won $8,715,368. Throughout his career, Heinz booked 10 live tournament cashes prior to this one and entered this event with $8,979,848 in career live tournament earnings. His last live cash on record was March of 2014, also in a Eureka Poker Tour event.

"Yes, I don't play much anymore," Heinz told officials after the win. "I arrived for the cash game, but I'm taking it easy now."

This win marked the 11th live tournament cash of Heinz's career and pushed his live tournament earnings over $9,000,000. He is currently third on the German all-time money list behind Tobias Reinkemeier (1st - $10,528,819) and Philipp Gruissem (2nd - $9,731,201).

Although the event isn't the common "super high roller" event we see these days, it's still a positive thing to see a former WSOP Main Event champion back on the horse and in the winner's circle.
