Hollywood Poker Open

The Hollywood Poker Open continues on Friday in Columbus, Ohio, with the $1,115 Regional Main Event. It's the 14th event on the schedule and the biggest one of the bunch, complete with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, two starting flights, and the appearance of Chris Moneymaker.

Last year's HPO Columbus Regional Main Event attracted 294 entries and was won by Daniel Swartz for $70,560. Finishing in second place was Nick Pupillo, and he bagged $43,512.

The Regional Main Event is scheduled to get the cards in the air at 11:15 a.m. local time and the PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand for coverage from the opening shuffle to the final river card. To follow along with the event, click here.

Players in the event will start with 20,000 in tournament chips and are allowed to reenter during the first eight levels of play. And, the winner of the event will be awarded a $2,500 seat into the season-ending HPO Championship at the M Resort in Las Vegas taking place June 22-26.

The HPO stop in Columbus kicked off with a $235 No-Limit Hold'em event with a $20,000 guarantee. A prize pool of $25,414 was generated to surpass the guarantee after 131 entries were tallied. In that event, Gregory Yeager emerged victorious to claim the $7,624 first-place prize, and he'll be someone the PokerNews team will be keeping an eye out for in the Regional Main Event.

What's Next for the HPO After Columbus?

Following the Columbus stop, the HPO will head to Charles Town, West Virginia, when it hits Charles Town Races on May 12. This will be the final stop of Season 4 before the summer's HPO Championship event and a last chance to get a piece of some HPO glory.

First up on the HPO Charles Town Races schedule is a $235 No-Limit Hold'em event on May 12 at 3:15 p.m., and that event is quickly followed by a $300 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack tournament with three starting flights on May 13 and 14.

The HPO Charles Town $1,115 Regional Main Event will take place May 20-22 and boast a $100,000 guarantee. PokerNews will also be on hand to cover this one.
