Hollywood Poker Open Leaderboard Update Heading Into Final Regional Stop

2 min read
Hollywood Poker Open

The Hollywood Poker Open recently concluded the Columbus, Ohio leg of Season 4, with Joe Ebanks emerging as the $1,115 Regional Main Event champion. Along with the victory and $50,000 in prize money, Ebanks was awarded a $2,500 seat into the season-ending HPO Championship Event at the M Resort in Las Vegas to take place June 23-26.

Ebanks winning the Regional Main Event wasn't the only news to come out of Columbus. As the HPO heads continues with its last regional stop of the season in Charles Town, West Virginia, plenty of players will be jockeying for position in the Season 4 Leaderboard that will see the top three point earners grab a $2,500 seat to the HPO Championship Event and join Ebanks in Las Vegas for that event.

For every HPO feature event that a player places in the money, he or she will receive points that accumulate on the leaderboard ranking. This has lasted throughout the entire season, and could see a few HPO grinders make the way to Las Vegas and turn a $2,500 ticket into a few hundred thousand dollars. After all, the HPO Championship Event has averaged $1.5 million over the last three seasons.

After the completion of the Columbus stop, here's how the top 10 stack up:

Seniors Leaderboard Update

Additionally, senior players of the HPO tour have a chance to win a $555 seat to the Seniors Championship in Las Vegas, also held at the M Resort. Last season, Craig Schauer outlasted 83 others to win over $13,000 and become the first HPO Seniors Champion.

From the Season 4 Seniors Leaderboard, the top five competitors will earn a $555 ticket. Following the completion of the Columbus stop, Thomas Lynch from Weldon Springs, MO led the way with 30 points, and then six players were tied for second with 15 points apiece. Behind those six, there's another eight players tied with 12 points.

One More Regional Stop for Season 4

HPO Columbus may be done and dusted, but there is one regional stop left before the Championship Event in June. That last stop is Charles Town, West Virginia at Charles Town Races. The stop began on May 12, but as always all eyes are on the $1,115 Regional Main Event, and that's coming up May 20-22.

Boasting a $100,000 guarantee, the HPO Charles Town Races $1,115 Regional Main Event will be the last big buy-in of the tour's fourth season. PokerNews will be on hand to cover the event that last season attracted 118 entries and saw Loukas Michael walk away as the winner.
