The Online Railbird Report: Tom "tjbentham" Bentham is the Week's Biggest Winner
This week in the Online Railbird Report, Tom "tjbentham" Bentham was the biggest winner, earning $59,192 over 411 hands played. He edged out the always fun Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies by less than $7,000, as Sahamies won $52,789 over 637 hands played.
On the other end of the spectrum, "KissMyAcePlz" was easily the week's biggest loser, dropping $64,108 over 266 hands of play. Both Daniel "d2themfi" Isaacson and "OtB_RedBaron" lost nearly $40,000 apiece over 275 and 294 hands, respectively, but still roughly $25,000 less than "KissMyAcePlz".
Three Biggest Pots Online in the Last Week
The three biggest pots this week all came from a $100/$200 no-limit hold'em game. It's been some time since we saw intensive action at the hold'em tables, but this week those looking for big Cadillac of Poker pots were pleased.
1. "wilhasha" Wins $115,160 Pot Off Thuritz
- $100/$200 No-Limit Hold'em, Five-Handed
On this five-handed $100/$200 table, it was the Belgian player "OtB_RedBaron" making it $400 from first position. Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz three-bet to $1,600 from the cutoff seat, and Nikita "fish2013" Bodyakovskiy gave up his button.
In the small blind, "wilhasha" cold four-bet to $5,600, and big blind Henrik "hhecklen" Hecklen folded. "OtB_RedBaron" followed suit and folded as well, but Thuritz five bet to $11,900. "wilhasha" shoved all in for $57,280.38 and Thuritz made the call, creating the $115,160 pot.
player | hand | equity | |
---|---|---|---|
"wilhasha" | A?A? | 81.71% | (0.46%) |
Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz | K?K? | 17.82% | (0.46%) |
They ran the board twice, and both times the aces held up. The first time it came J?9?2?4?8?, and the second time around it came J?6?7?9?9?. That shipped the pot to "wilhasha".
2. Hecklen Wins $97,056 Pot Off Thuritz
- $100/$200 No-Limit Hold'em, Three-Handed
On this three-handed table, it was Thuritz opening the action with a button raise to $500 holding the Q?9?. Bodyakovskiy folded from the small blind, and Hecklen three-bet to $2,128 holding the A?K?. Thuritz made the call.
The flop came J?10?3?, giving Hecklen the nut flush and a worse one for Thuritz. Thuritz did have an out to the 8? for a straight flush, though.
With $4,356 in the pot, Hecklen checked. Thuritz bet $2,306.03, and Hecklen called. The 3? hit the turn, and Hecklen checked again. Thuritz bet $7,600 into the $8,968.06 pot, and Hecklen called.
The 5? on the river paired the board and Hecklen checked for the third time. With the pot now at $24,168.06, it was Thuritz shoving all in for $37,965.97. Hecklen wasn't willing to lay down his flush and called for just a little less than Thuritz's shove. Thuritz saw the bad news that he had been out-flopped, and Hecklen won the pot of nearly $100,000.
3. "Katya_18" Wins $75,377 Pot From "wilhasha"
- $$100/$200 No-Limit Hold'em, Three-Handed
Hecklen folded on the button, and "wilhasha" opened from the small blind for $554. "Katya_18" three-bet from big blind to $2,000 and "wilhasha" made the call.
The flop came Q?K?5?, and "wilhasha" check-called a half-pot bet of $2,000. He check-called another $8,000 bet on the 4? turn, and then the river brought the 9? to the table. "wilhasha" checked with $25,691.19 behind. The pot was $23,995 at this point, and "Katya_18" shoved all in for $30,306.50. "wilhasha" called with the A?Q? for second pair, ace kicker, but he saw the pot go to his opponent, as "Katya_18" showed the K?Q? for top two pair.

2016 Online Poker Leaderboard
With a lot of the players in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker, not a whole lot of action was seen by the three biggest winners and losers for the year. Dani "supernova9" Stern was the only one logging hands from the biggest winners, as he played 168 hands and lost $43,778.
From the guys in the red, just Viktor "Isildur1" Blom was seen on the tables. He ended around break-even though, so no real changes there either.
