partypoker has maintained its roster of ambassadors and sponsored pros by extending the contract of Roberto Romanello.

Romanello was seen sporting partypoker patches at the recent World Series of Poker after signing a short-term deal to be an ambassador of the online poker site. Since returning to home soil, Romanello has been in discussions with the partypoker management about extending his contract, and those talks have bore fruit with the popular Welshman penning a deal that sees him remain as a partypoker ambassador until after the 2017 WSOP.

Speaking to the partypoker blog, Romanello said: I was very impressed with a lot of their ideas and plans for moving forward. Its not a surprise that partypoker is growing at a fast rate; there are a lot of players out there who are impressed with the positive changes partypoker have made recently.

For me, it was an easy decision to sign up because the people behind the scenes at partypoker are very easy to work with, and that is important to me. The deal extends to the 2017 WSOP, and that was something that helped seal the deal because everyone knows that I am chasing the Triple Crown; there is nothing I want to achieve more in poker than becoming a Triple Crown winner.

As part of his deal, Romanello heads to Morocco for the Mazagan 10 High Roller, will be a prominent figure at the upcoming Grand Prix Poker Tour Cardiff, World Poker Tour National Ireland, and the Caribbean Poker Party, as well as playing in $109+ buy-in tournaments online at partypoker where Romanello is known as TheWelshWizard.

Triple Crown Chasing Welshman

Romanello is eager to become one of a select few to win live pokers coveted Triple Crown. After winning the Season 7 edition of the European Poker Tour Prague Main Event in 2010, Romanello added the second prong of the Triple Crown by taking down the WPT Bratislava Main Event in 2011.

All Romanello need now is a WSOP bracelet, but that gold bangle eludes him.

Since his WPT title, Romanello has come agonizingly close to winning a WSOP bracelet, and you get the feeling that it is a matter of when not if he will add one to his already impressive poker CV.

At the 2012 WSOP, Romanello finished seventh in the $3,000 no-limit holdem shootout, then busted from the 2,700 no-limit holdem six-handed at the 2012 WSOP Europe in fifth-place. At the 2015 WSOPE, Romanello fell in fourth-place in the 3,250 pot-limit Omaha event, then at the 2016 WSOP, Romanello bust from the $1,000 no-limit holdem tournament in third-place.

When Romanello secures a WSOP bracelet, he will join Gavin Griffin, Roland De Wolfe, Jake Cody, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Davidi Kitai in the exclusive Triple Crown club.
