Big One for One Drop Starts Off With a Bang
Just over six hours ago, the most exclusive event in the history of poker started off with a bang, or more specifically a Cirque du Soleil show with none other than Albert II, Prince of Monaco, in attendance: The 2016 Monte-Carlo One Drop Extravaganza.
From there, this James Bond Monte-Carlo reenactment with the biggest-ever buy-in and the ability to reshape poker's all-time money list was just a mystery.
No player list was released, but even as players made their way in, they had the opportunity to reenter the entire first day of play.
One thing is for sure: One Drop Founder Guy Lalibert is in (with his coach Daniel Negreanu by his side). Others who have already made their intentions clear or showed up around Monaco include Dan Shak, Paul Newey, Talal Shakerchi, Haralabos Voulgaris and Andrew Pantling. The list continues here. As of the start of the second level, this was the seat draw.
By the time the play was actually about to start, more coaches were making appearances than players with Scott Seiver, Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Selbst, Liv Boeree, ElkY, Daniel Cates and Tom Marchese all present to offer advice.

At the start of the fourth level, Bobby Baldwin and James Bord took small pots. Bord, whos been receiving massages throughout the tournament, turned two kings and was the winner against Zuo Wang after the river was checked through at lightning speed. Sean Dempsey took James Bord later on the turn.
Baldwin raised his bet, which was called by Anatoly Gurtovoy. Baldwin bet 300,000 after the board ran on the river and it was good enough to secure him the pot.

In the 10,000 No-Limit Hold'em, the single-day action was slow to start with eight players. None had busted and all were in contention with late registration remaining open for some time.
Without many details, two players were eliminated but three that were still in were Pierre Neuville, Senh Ung and Dan Fleyshman.
With the recent elimination of former November Nine Pierre Neuville, there are now four players remaining. Leading the way with about 60,000 of the 160,000 chips in play was Jordan Lenoach, followed by Steven Uccio (45,000), Dan Fleyshman (40,000) and Carsten Girst (15,000).
The $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em event moved to now be heads up. Uccio took a big chip lead over Lenoach, roughly 130,000 to 30,000, and ended up with the win for 48,360.
