New Jersey Online Poker Briefing: Jesse "ROU$EY" Elliot Wins the NJCOOP Main Event for $38K!

On Monday, the first-ever New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP) became history at PokerStars NJ after Jesse "ROU$EY" Elliot won the NJCOOP-40: $500 NL Hold'em [Main Event,2-Day Event], $200,000 Gtd for $38,380. Elliot just about called his shot, when on the PocketFives New Jersey Poker Community page he announced before the start of the second day, "Everyone who made Day 2 of the main, let's send these PokerStars pros the f*** home. Let's go baby!"

Elliot proved what he was made of during the NJCOOP, as not only did he win the NJCOOP Main Event, but last weekend he also took first place in a heads-up deal with Chris ""MoneyNJ800" Moneymaker in the NJCOOP-21: $350 NL Hold'em [Sunday Special SE], $75,000 Gtd for $17,818.

Also on the final table in the NJCOOP Main Event were PokerStars Team Pro and former World Poker Tour champion Victor Ramdin (eighth - $4,500) and two-time WPT champion Darren "oldmoneyD" Elias (ninth - $3,320).

Elliot also managed a cash in the NJCOOP-39: $100 NL Hold'em [Big Antes], $15,000 Gtd, where he took eighth place for $562. The top two spots in this tournament belonged to Daniel "AvaGray" Lupo (first - $4,026) and Michael "MartinChatwn" Lavenburg (second - $2,903).

In another big tournament on PokerStars NJ, "boyequity" shipped the Sunday High Roller [6-Max], $15,000 Gtd for $10,011.

New Jersey's "slowmotion" was the big winner this past weekend on partypoker NJ and BorgataPoker.com by finishing on top of a 253-entrant field to win the Sunday $40K gtd for $10,120. Notable players on the final table in this tournament included Brandon "DoorKnob" Shane (third - $4,807), Christian "ChinIAM" Soto (fifth - $3,390), Jacob "jakep474" Perry (sixth - $2,884), Jeremy "Jermz" Danger (seventh - $2,378) and Craig "Ruby_" Rubinstein (eighth - $1,872).

Rubinstein managed to nail down a much bigger cash on WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ when he took second place in the monthly $30,000 The BIG Deal to collect $7,304. This tournament was won by "VicSr311" for $12,460, while both Douglas "Badwis" Weider (5th - $3,437) and Jason "LuckDuck" Lawhun (6th - $2,965) also appeared on the final table.

Also, with a five-digit payday this past Sunday was "grebnrets" after taking down the WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $50,000 Ultimate Warrior for $13,500. Brian "pure_reason" Wood just missed out on the top prize by taking second place for $7,875. Michael "SnakePlisken" Bees finished a few spots behind in fifth place for $3,000.

Also winning a tournament with at least a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool on Sunday was John "Selurznug" Cosgrove Jr, who shipped the WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $10,000 Fierce Warrior for $3,423.
