TheSeneca Niagara Resort & Casino will host the 2017 Western New York Poker Challenge March 31 through April 10.

The Western New York Poker Challenge (WNYPC) features 10 action-packed events highlighted by the four-day $1,000 WNYPC Main Event, which boasts a huge $200,000 guarantee. The Main Event kicks off on April 7 and 8 with two opening days where players begin with 30,000 chips and blinds increase every 40 minutes. The structure becomes deeper on the following days with blind levels increasing to 60 minutes on Day 2 (April 9) and 90 minutes until a winner is declared on Day 3 (April 10).

Last year, Richard Block won this event for $52,768 for his largest poker cash ever. Block previously won the 2014 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Main Event for $40,050.

For those on a more limited budget, there are satellites with guaranteed seats running every weekend leading up to the event and there are also plenty of cheaper events on the schedule starting at $100.

The Western New York Poker Challenge starts with the $300 No-Limit Hold'em opening event featuring a $100,000 guarantee and four separate starting flights over two days on March 31 and April 1. Surviving players will compete until a champion is crowned on April 2.

The schedule also features three $150 buy in, single-day $10,000 Guaranteed No-Limit Hold'em on April 2 to 5 and a $300 buy in $15,000 Guaranteed Pot Limit Omaha and a $200 buy in $10,000 Guaranteed Ladies Championship Event, both on April 7.

Warm Up with the Western New York Poker Challenge Warm-Up and More

Players do not need to wait for the WNYPC for incredible poker tournament action at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. Leading up to the event is the Western New York Poker Challenge Warm-Up from Feb. 24 to 26, which features three exciting one-day events.

The Western New York Poker Challenge Warm-Up kicks off with the $300 No-Limit Hold'em opening event featuring a $25,000 guarantee on Feb. 24 followed by the $600 No-Limit Hold'em with a larger $50,000 guarantee on Feb. 25 and the $150 No Limit Hold'em with a $10,000 guarantee on Feb. 26.

Players surviving to the final 10 in the first two events will also be awarded a satellite ticket for the Western New York Poker Challenge Main Event valued at $145.

Feb. 20 will also be a special day at the casino as they are giving away a Dodge Charger for the first time. Players can earn a ticket to a giveaway raffle for every four hours played at cash game tables from Jan. 1 to Feb. 20. There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be earned.

In March, the casino will be giving away over $80,000 in cash for High Hand Jackpots and other promotions. Also, on March 1, the casino will be hosting its longest standing $160 First Wednesday of the Month tournament, which averages approximately 200 players.

In addition to the prize pool, players making it to the final table will be invited to a championship event in January 2018. This tournament also runs again on April 6 during the Western New York Poker Challenge.
