The Railbird Report: Tollerene Collects All the Money
Another week, another big winner topping the leaderboard.
Last week we had Jens Kyll?nen who threw in the towel, this time nobody has called it quits.
But action did slow down a bit with not a whole lot of high-stakes tables running and all but one huge pot was seen. In fact, some of the biggest pots came from $50/$100, considerably lower stakes than the $100/$200 and $200/$400 we see usually. This week's biggest pot is, however, a big one if you look at the amount of big blinds going in.
While the stakes might have been a bit lower than usual, the biggest winner is by no means a newcomer. It's once again Ben "Ben86" Tollerene who came out on top, winning a little over $100,000 for the week. He won all three of the biggest pots on PokerStars this week and battled numerous players heads up and on short-handed tables.
Here's a look at this week's three biggest pots:
1) Ben "Ben86" Tollerene Wins a $138,365 Pot (692 Big Blinds) Of Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov
($100/$200 PLO HU)
Ben "Ben86" Tollerene and Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov battled it out on March 2. PokerStars $100/$200 PLO table Hekastostos was where the action unfolded; just take a look at the table with the results of this week to see who came out on top.
In the biggest hand of the week (there was one bigger, but that one ended in a chop), Tollerene opened the button for $680 and Kuznetsov called.
With the pot at $1,320, Kuznetsov checked on A?5?J?. Tollerene answered with a bet of $1,005.90 and Kuznetsov called.
The 7? hit the turn and Kuznetsov checked again. Tollerene bet pot for almost $3,500 and Kuznetsov check-raised to $13,795.20. Tollerene called to grow the pot to $30,922.20, leaving himself $13,251.34 behind.
With the 6? completing the board, Kuznetsov shoved all in for $19,000. Tollerene called for his remaining $13,000 and scooped the monster pot showing 2?3?4?5? for a straight. Kuznetsov had nothing but 4?6?J?Q? for two pair.
2) Ben "Ben86" Tollerene Wins a $48,938 Pot (122 Big Blinds) Of "Grazvis1"
($200/$400 PLO 5-Handed)
"Grazvis1" opened under the gun for $1,400 on the five-handed table before Tollerene three-bet to $4,800 from the button. Both blinds got out of the way and Grazvis1 called.
With now $10,200 in the middle, the flop came 5?10?4?. Grazvis1 checked and saw Tollerene bet $10,195. Grazvis1 shoved all in for $19,371.53 and Tollerene called.
Player | Hand | Equity on 5?10?4? |
---|---|---|
Ben "Ben86" Tollerene | A?A?Q?Q? | 58.60% |
"Grazvis1" | A?5?K?2? | 41.10% |
They decided to run the turn and river twice. Both times fourth and fifth street came in favor of Tollerene; 9?8? and 6?7?.
3) Ben "Ben86" Tollerene Wins a $42,834 Pot (428 Big Blinds) Of Oliver "sk2ll_m0dR" Wies
($50/$100 PLO HU)
Oliver "sk2ll_m0dR" Wies limped in for $100. Big blind Ben "Ben86" Tollerene bumped it up to $340 only for Wies to raise to $1,110. Tollerene answered with a four-bet to $3,220 and Wies called.
With now $6,570 in the middle, according to the playback, the flop came 10?3?2?. Tollerene bet pot and Wies shoved all in for just over $23,000. Tollerene called all in for $18,178.
Player | Hand | Equity on 10?3?2? | |
---|---|---|---|
Ben "Ben86" Tollerene | A?K?K?10? | 58.05% | (0.16%) |
Oliver "sk2ll_m0dR" Wies | 7?8?10?J? | 41.79% | 0.16% |
The 7? on the turn helped Wies in the lead but the 2? on the river counterfeited his two pair and Tollerene took it down.
Online High-Stakes Action the Last Week
As said, Ben Tollerene came out on top winning a little over $100,000. Matthew Ashton had another good week, winning just over $60,000. Alexander Kostritsyn, Andrs Nmeth and Dan Cates were just some of the other players this week that had positive results over the last seven days.
Kuznetsov was this week's biggest losing player, ending just over $70,000 in the red. He was joined by Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky and Gus "broksi" Hansen. The latter had the intention of making his return to live poker he told PokerNews in an exclusive interview last year, but has so far not made good on that promise.
