Long-time poker vet Kenna James made headlines again after a tournament victory last Sunday, collecting his second career Wynn trophy in the third installment of the Wynn Signature Weekend.

Not only do I live here in Vegas, I play regularly at the Wynn, so I definitely felt I was on my home turf, James said of the Wynn Signature Weekend $250K Guarantee, a $600 buy-in event.

James added $55,345 to his over $3.7 million in live tournament earnings over the April 20-23 weekend, in an event with a $368,333 prize pool and 704 players.

The last time James was making headlines at the Wynn, he won the $5,000 Championship Event of the 2013 Wynn Summer Classic.

As opposed to other Wynn Signature weekends, this one was 20 percent up over the previous year in April 2016. Wynn may soon build the weekend event into a regular offering.

"With the added space and comfort of the new poker room, as well as the addition of extra tables in the Encore Players Lounge, we can easily accommodate starting flights of up to 500 players," said Tournament Director Aaron Jacques.

The Wynn Summer Classic runs June 2-July 16 with 36 events. Its two marquee events each feature a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000.
