888poker 8-Team

888poker, the official sponsor of the World Series of Poker, is sending a team of poker players to the 2017 WSOP known as The 8-Team. A lucky qualifier could become a part of it and have the chance to fly the 888poker flag at next years series.

Five teams, each from a different country, feature a team captain, a wing man and a qualifier will be chosen to represent the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Brazil and Sweden at the upcoming 2017 WSOP Main Event. The qualifier who lasts the longest out of the five qualifiers will win a value-packed package to the 2018 WSOP Main Event.

The captains have already been chosen; the wing men will be revealed in the next couple of weeks. The qualifiers will be chosen from everyone who qualifies for a 2017 WSOP Main Event package online at 888poker, which anyone can do for as little as $0.01.

8-Team Team Captains

888poker has selected its captains for 8-Team and, as you would expect, they are members of 888pokers elite team of ambassadors.

Captaining the U.K. is none other than Chris Moorman. With almost $14 million in online tournament winnings and $4.6 million from his live poker exploits, Moorman is a proven winner and a player worthy of being the captain of any poker team.

Team Brazil will be captained by Bruno Foster Politano, a player who has already enjoyed the sweet taste of WSOP success. Politano navigated his way to an eighth-place finish in the 2014 WSOP Main Event and returned home with $947,172.

One of Twitchs hottest properties, Parker Talbot, will be in charge of Team Canada. Known affectionately as Tonkaaaa, Talbot is on the lookout for his first WSOP cash this summer and will be doing everything in his power to get that particularly monkey off of his shoulder.

Leading Team Sweden into battle is Sofia Lovgren. The popular Swede may be primarily a cash game player, but she is no slouch in poker tournaments either. At the 2016 WSOP, Lovgren played her way to 12th place in the Millionaire Maker event, a tournament that attracted a huge field of 7,190 entrants. Lovgren is hopeful of winning a WSOP bracelet this summer.

Last, but not least, is Team Germany. Dominik Nitsche leads Germany into battle knowing he is one of the most successful poker players of recent years. Nitsche has three WSOP bracelets to his name and more than $6.5 million in live poker tournament winnings. Do you think Nitsche can secure his fourth bracelet in Las Vegas this summer?
