Gr888 Debate: Who Should Be Nominated for the 2017 Poker Hall of Fame?

1 min read

It's that time of year again. The nominations are open for the 2017 Poker Hall of Fame class. PokerNews' Sarah Herring walked around the Rio to speak with poker players and media members about their top picks.

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott was a popular selection by many, including David Williams, Chris DeMaci, Bruno Fitoussi, and PokerNews' Matthew Parvis. Fitoussi, who has spoke openly about the lack of European players in the Hall of Fame, has Ulliott back on his list for 2017.

"He was a personality and a character," Fitoussi said of Ulliott. I'm gonna vote for him again."

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Max Pescotori went with Ted Forrest, a six-time bracelet winner and a member of the consortium of high-stakes poker pros who took on Texas billionaire Andy Beal in the early 2000s.

"Amazing player, very strange player to play against. Very challenging," Pescatori said of Forrest.

And, of course, Phil Ivey was the "obvious" choice for this year's class. Ivey, who turned 40 in February, is a 10-time WSOP bracelet winner and arguably the most feared cash game player of all time.

Who is your pick? Be sure to place your nominations here and leave your reasons why in the comments section below.
