Aussie Millions Poker Schedule 2018

Crown Melbourne officials have released the schedule for the 2018 Aussie Millions Poker Championship.

Billed by tournament organizers as "Asia-Pacific's longest-running poker tournament," the festival will feature 26 numbered events with buy-ins ranging from AU$1,150 to AU$100,000.

That means that, a year after it failed to run due to low turnout, the AU$250K Challenge is off the schedule. The fan favorite was one of the biggest buy-in events from 2011 to 2016, drawing as many as 30 entries in 2014, for the second of Phil Ivey's three wins. With Ivey and other super high rollers notably absent in 2017, the event was canceled, and it seems it will remain on ice for the time being.

Still, fans of high roller action will have plenty to sweat. There's still the AU$100K Challenge, the AU$50K Challenge and the AU$25K Challenge.

Overall, the event will run Jan. 17 through Feb. 5. The AU$10,600 Main Event is scheduled to begin Jan. 28, with the final table playing out Feb. 4. Last year, amateur player and satellite qualifier Shurane Vijayaram claimed a first-place prize of AU$1.6 million after getting through a field of 725 runners. He joined the likes of Tony Bloom, Gus Hansen, Ami Barer and Ari Engel in the pantheon of champions.

Other highlights of the schedule include the AU$1,150 Opening Event, featuring AU$1 million guaranteed, the AU$1,150 Mix-Max, and the AU$2,500 Shot Clock Six-Max.

Crowns Aussie Millions Poker Championship continues to absolutely stamp itself on the global must-attend list for both recreational players and seasoned pros alike," said Crown Melbourne Tournament Director Joel Williams. "Following on from record numbers across most events in 2017, 2018 looms as our biggest event to date."

In addition to cash prizes, winners will receive "championship rings," and the Main Event winner claims a bracelet worth roughly AU$25,000.

Here's a look at the full schedule, with buy-ins listed in AU$:
