Nebojsa Blanusa Wins WSOPC Sydney Omaha Event for $31,677
As the host of the 2017 WSOP Sydney Circuit stop, The Star Poker Room has been a hub of poker activity as players from around the continent and the region battled for their shot at WSOP gold. While the series had a plethora of no-limit Hold'em tournaments on the schedule, it was the Omaha players that were the center of attention on this day.
When registration closed, the official tally of players came to 203, each of which paid A$660 for the privilege of playing against the best of the best that Sydney had to offer.
There were recognizable faces littered throughout the room including WSOP bracelet winner and high stakes Omaha cash player, Jarred Graham, the 2017 WSOP Sydney 6-Max Event champion, Warwick Mirzikinan, 2016 Aussie Millions 6-Max Champion, Jarryd Godena, and 2017 Star Poker Festival $5k Challenge third-place finisher, Brett Murtagh.
At the end of it all, 21 players would leave with a paycheck and the winner would take home the top prize of $31,677. Here are the payouts that this bigger-than-expected field generated.

As expected, the event was action-packed and full of excitement with superior poker skills on display that lasted through the night and into the late hours of the next morning.
As the sun was rising, it was Nebojsa Blanusa that distanced himself from the pack and found himself holding all the chips. The $31,677 prize that came with first place more than doubled Blanusa's winnings to date and put him over the $50,000-mark in career earnings.
It seemed to be Blanusa's tournament to lose from the beginning. His commanding performance throughout the night paired with his patience and knack for picking his spots helped propel him to the win.
