Crushing 2017's mark of 48, this year's event drew a total of 86 entries. The $15,000 guarantee was easily surpassed closing off at $21,651. Just nine spots were to be paid, but once the final table of ten was reached, the finalists decided to remove $50 from each prize and pay 10th $450.
A string of pre-flop bets got Peter Beshay and David Battaglia all with the former at risk. Both players had aces, but Battaglia would end up making a wheel to bust the Canadian. The short stacks of Marty Desanto and Jordan Lagano were the next to be swallowed up before Battaglia outdrew Don Conrad to send him home in seventh.
A big confrontation saw Girdler crack Wasik's aces with a full house and take a huge chip lead. With that, the final five players reached an agreement to chop up the remaining prize pool. Since Girdler had a sizeable chip lead, he was given $4,500 while the other four banked $3,310 each.
