The second flight of the 550 MPN Poker Tour Sunny Beach Main Event is in the bag, and so are the chips of 78 players who will be returning along with the 41 Day 1a survivors to fight for the money and beyond.
The 150,000 guarantee was smashed with 201 entrants competing on Day 1a joining the 110 entrants on Day 1b to create a 311 entrant field and counting. The exact size of the field and the total prize pool will be released early on Day 2 on Saturday, July 7 with late-registration still permitted until the 2 p.m. start time of the day.
With a late surge near the end of Day 1b, United Kingdom's Joseph Ananias, who qualified to the event through RedKings Poker, finished on top of the second opening flight's chip counts after bagging a healthy stack of 200,300. Although Ananias bagged the biggest stack on Day 1b, he enters Day 2 second in chips, just behind the chip leading stack of 217,200 held by Swedish Paf Poker qualifier and Day 1a chip leader Mikael Gr?nvik.
