2018 Wynn Fall Classic Schedule Announced
Some of the most popular live poker tournaments in Las Vegas go down at the Encore poker room at the Wynn, and its that time again. Wynn has announced the schedule for their upcoming Wynn Fall Classic, which guarantees more than $1.8 million to be paid out across 16 events.
The series will run from Sept. 26 to Oct. 14, a full week longer than last year's edition. A notable addition to the schedule is a $3,200 High Roller which kicks off Oct. 10 and will last two days. There's also a pot-limit Omaha event on Oct. 3 with a $400 buy-in. Also new, all no-limit holdem events on the schedule will feature the big blind ante format.
Championship Event
The highlight of the series will be the three-day Championship Event with a $1,600 buy-in and a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool that has starting flights on Oct. 12 and 13. This event will see players starting with 25,000 chips, playing to 45-minute levels on Day 1, 60-minute levels on Day 2 and 75-minute levels for the final day.
If last year is any indication, the series should attract big numbers and big names. The 2017 Fall Classic drew more than 3,000 entries across just eight events, and more than $1.9 million in prize money was awarded. Though the 2017 edition was on a smaller scale, the Championship Event got 447 entries to generate a prize pool of more than $650,000.
A familiar name in the poker tournament world, Matt Affleck, finished at the top to claim the $139,300 first-place prize. He wasnt the only notable player to final table the event, as Keith Ferrera (third - $60,900), Jon Turner (fourth - $42,600), Tyler Patterson (seventh - $19,300) and Kenna James (ninth - $13,500) all locked up five-figure scores for top-nine finishes.
