Dmitrii Perfilev Denies Sheddy Siddiqui in WSOPC Coconut Creek Main
On Monday night, the 2018/19 World Series of Poker Circuit wrapped up its latest stop at Florida��s Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. The stop, which was comprised of a dozen official ring events, awarded a pair of seats to the season-ending Global Championship.
The first went to 29-year-old Dmitrii Perfilev, who defeated Sheddy Siddiqui in heads-up play to win the Main Event for $222,691. The other was awarded to Martin Ryan for finishing as the Casino Champion.
Perfilev Denies Siddiqui
The $1,700 Main Event attracted 735 entries, and in the end, the title came down to Perfilev, an entrepreneur with one small tournament cash to his name, and Siddiqui, a beloved South Florida poker pro.
In the final hand of the tournament, Siddiqui moved all in for his last 13 big blinds holding queen ten and was called by Perfilev, who held king-jack. The board ran out nine high and Siddiqui was denied his first ring, though he did take home $137,298 in prize money, which was the second-largest score of his career.
��For me, [the money] is not so special, but I��m excited for first place,�� Russian-born Perfilev said after the win. ��It��s my second tournament of the year. My first one came at the Isle and I made third place. And now I improve my results. I��m happy because I like the practice, but I don��t play tournaments for a while.��

While it was his first big tournament score, Perfilev is no stranger to poker in South Florida where he can usually be spotted at the pot-limit Omaha cash game tables.
��I play about four days a week,�� he said. ��I have some businesses, but poker is still my life.��
Others to cash the Main Event were Corey Bierria (15th - $13,752), Russ Head (40th - $4,009), and Nancy Birnbaum (63rd - $3,285).

Casino Champ is Crowned
No one did better at the WSOPC Coconut Creek stop than Martin Ryan, who claimed Casino Champion honors after cashing four times, making three final tables, and capturing his sixth gold ring.
His run began when he finished 103rd in Event #2: $400 NLH Re-entry for $701, and two days later won Event #3: $1,125 NLH for $21,375 and the ring. He followed that up by placing fourth in Event #11: $250 NLH Turbo for $2,148, and closed things out by finishing fifth in Event #12: $400 NLH for $2,696.
The WSOP Circuit next live stop will run from September 27 through October 8 at Horseshoe Southern Indiana followed by a stop at the Chicagoland area��s Horseshoe Hammond from October 11-22.
