Traditionally, the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl has been held in late May prior to the start of the annual World Series of Poker. That��s about to change as Poker Central announced the fifth edition of the tournament, which will feature a 48-player cap, will be held Dec. 17-19, 2018.

Once again, the rake-free tournament will offer an overall prize pool of $14.4 million with $5 million of that going to the eventual winner, along with an SHRB championship ring.

Given the date change �C which according to the press release is a ��new permanent home on the calendar�� �C the SHRB will count towards the point race for the High Roller of the Year title, which concludes at the end of the calendar year.

Simmons: ��We��re proud to celebrate that milestone in December, as we implement changes that will continue the success of the event for many years to come.��

Those wishing to play must make a $30,000 deposit by Monday, Nov. 26. Just 25 spots will be awarded by lottery �C to be live streamed on PokerGO on Nov. 27 �C while 18 seats are reserved for ARIA VIP guests and five being awarded to the top five players on the aforementioned High Roller of the Year leaderboard.

The 2018 SHRB is set to stream on PokerGO, while NBC Sports Network will feature Super High Roller Bowl episodes on both NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

The SHRB launched in 2015 with a $500,000 price tag. The inaugural event was won by Brian Rast for $7,525,000. In 2016, the buy-in was lowered to $300,000 and saw Rainer Kempe beat Fedor Holz in heads-up play to win a $5 million first-place prize.

In 2017, Christoph Vogelsang took down the title for $6 million, and this past summer Justin Bonomo bested Daniel Negreanu to win the SHRB IV for $5 million. Since its creation, the SHRB has awarded $67,760,000 in prize money.
