Greg Mueller and Tyler Bonkowski Make Deep WSOP Runs on Canada Day

Monday marked Canada's 152nd birthday. There is a ton of action going on at the Rio in Las Vegas, and the field is full of players wearing red and white to commemorate the day.
For instance, Day 3 of Event #66: $1,500 Limit Hold'em began with 21 players and among those were two Canadian bracelet winners in Greg Mueller, and Tyler Bonkowski.
Mueller Seeks Fourth Gold Bracelet
Unfortunately for Mueller, he was eliminated in ninth place for $10,418, getting very close to winning his fourth career WSOP bracelet.
The former professional hockey player won his third gold bracelet earlier this summer in Event #29: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. for $425,347. That was 10 years after he won two bracelets playing limit hold'em during the summer of 2009.

Despite being eliminated, Mueller still has a couple of more weeks to make it another summer of double bracelets for himself.
Bonkowski a Proud Canadian
Meanwhile, Tyler Bonkowski was eliminated in 13th place for $6,473. Bonkowski won Event #14: $3,000 Limit Hold'em back in 2011 for $220,817 and his biggest career score to date.
Although Bonkowski was eliminated, he talked about going deep again and playing with some heavy hitters in Mueller, David 'ODB' Baker, and Chris Ferguson.
"Once it gets close to the end, I wanna play with these guys. I feel like it's more of a challenge. It's kind of exciting to play against the better guys - you wanna be tested more."
