Final Table Action

According to updates from the event, Russel Rothstein was the first final table elimination after he got it in on the turn with top pair of jacks and a nine kicker only to see Steve Sarmiento call with the same pair and a jack kicker. The river was a brick and Rothstein was ousted in ninth place for $8,605.

Not long after on a six-high flop, Chris Csik jammed with king-six only to have Park call with pocket sevens. Csik failed to suck out and had to settle for eighth place and $10,814 in prize money.

After the elimination of Kyle Brock in seventh, Park scored another knockout. It happened when Sarmiento five-bet all in with pocket kings only to have Park roll over aces. The bullets held and Sarmiento hit the rail in sixth place for $18,372.

Carlos Alvarado then ran queens into the aces of John Alesi to fall in fifth place, while Dan DaConti busted in fourth after his king-jack failed to get there against Parks ace-jack all in preflop.

In what would turn out to be the final hand of the tournament, Park raised the button and Alesi three-bet it. Park shoved and Alesi called off holding pocket nines, which were flipping against ace-king. A king on the flop gave Park the lead, and he sent Alesi out the door in third place after an ace on the river improved him to two pair.

At that point, the final two players agreed on an ICM chop, which meant Park was named champ while Jackob Datashvili was runner-up for $81,733.

The Parx Big Stax, which runs through August 22, continues this week with a series of side events and satellites before the Big Stax 1100 this Friday.
