The WCOOP edition of the Sunday Warm-Up attracted a field of 435 players who created an $870,000 prize pool that was shared among the top 53 finishers.
Conor blanconegro Drinnan was the unfortunate soul who burst the money bubble, busting in 54th place and leaving the tournament empty-handed. WCOOP-34-H: $1,050 NLHE Afternoon Deep Stack
The WCOOP always attracts players from far and wide with elite grinders arriving at PokerStars in droves. One such player was Russias Andrey Kroko-dill Zaichenko who bought into the WCOOP-34-H: $1,050 NLHE Afternoon Deep Stack event along with 383 others.
Zaichenko bulldozed his way to victory, a finish worth a cool $69,953. It wasnt an easy task for Zaichenko. Reaching the final table was severe enough in its own right, but there were some incredible players with him under the spotlight.
By the time only three players remained, it could have gone either way as the last standing trio were superb tournament players. Those three became two when girafganger7 busted in third-place and took home $39,361. This left Zaichenko and the UKs Ben jenbizzle Jones to play heads-up for the title and the lions share of the prize pool.
It was a contest Zaichenko came out of smiling, doing o with $69,953 to his name. Jones had to make do with the $52,473 runner-up prize, still an excellent score for a few hours work.
