Spain's Sergi Reixach finished on top of a tough field of 22 entrants to win Event #6: 25,000 NLHE at the British Poker Open (BPO) at Aspers Casino in London for 253,200 after beating Timothy Adams heads-up.
The win was not only the Spaniard's first cash in the BPO but also helped him soar past $5 million in career tournament earnings according to The Hendon Mob. Although it wasn't the easiest day for Reixach, he eliminated all four of his opponents at the final table single-handed.
"It's been a tough final day," Reixach said to Poker Central after his victory. "The bubble lasted four hours or something - it's probably one of the longest bubbles I ever played. "After the bubble burst, I was lucky in a three-way all-in with pocket nines and heads up was just a cooler... and I win!"

Final Table Action
The second and final day began with a final table of five players and just four spots getting paid at least a minimum payout of 55,000. The bubble lasted more than three hours with the lead bouncing around like a hot potato from Elio Fox to Ali Imsirovic to Reixach to Imsirovic to Adams to Imsirovic to Reixach to Fox to Adams to Fox and back to Adams before the first elimination took place.
Imsirovic was the odd man out on the bubble in fifth place. He opened for more than half his stack with king-jack suited and couldn't win a flip after he called a three-bet jam from Reixach with nines.
Reixach wasn't done with nines yet as shortly after he eliminated two opponents at once with this hand. Michael Zhang open-shoved with queen-ten. Fox called from the small blind with ace-seven suited and called for his tournament life after Reixach three-bet jammed with nines from the big blind. The nines held strong and both Fox (third - 88,000) and Zhang (fourth - 55,000) hit the rail.
Heads-up play lasted just one hand. Reixach began the action with a 10:1 chip advantage over Adams. Adams jammed with king-queen and missed his chance for a comeback after he couldn't improve against the big slick held by Reixach. Instead, Adams collected the healthy runner-up prize of 154,000.
BPO Series Leaderboard Standings After Six Events
Despite not cashing in Event #6, Sam Soverel holds a commanding lead on the British Poker Open Championship leaderboard after a victory in Event #5 and two runner-up performances in other events. Reixach snuck into the top five with his win, but like everyone else near the top of the leaderboard, will need two more cashes in the remaining four BPO events for a chance to win the leaderboard.
