Parx Big Stax XXXI 300 Final Day Recap

The final day started exactly how Day 2 did, with guns blazing and chips blasting.

After starting the day in the middle of the pack, Danny Pabon showed no fear as he jammed his 970,000 chips in the middle after Weng raised on the button. Weng snap-called holding a suited ace that would pair on the flop to send Pabon and his pocket fives out the door in the first elimination of the day.

After a slew of eliminations, James Brady was next to go. Brady had picked his spots exceptionally well all tournament, but due to stack sizes, he had to make a move. Unfortunately for Brady, he ran his ace-six into Allen's ace-seven and was eliminated from the tournament.

The rapid-fire of eliminations continued once eighteen players remained as Michael Dalessandro, John Malczan, and Andrew Wu were all eliminated in a short timeframe and took a $2,819 payday.

The eliminations continued through James Bambrick when he jammed over the top of Lau holding a made hand of eights. He couldn't dodge the board as Lau paired his big slick to give him an eleventh place finish, setting up play for the unofficial final table.

Parx Big Stax XXXI 300 Final Table Action

The final table started with players getting double-ups left and right making it a full level before the first elimination. Eventually, short stack Rane Duong broke the drought. Doung ground her short stack all day and found double-ups each time she got her chips in the middle but ran out of luck in the end. Duong woke up with pocket sevens and jammed her chips in the middle, but Lau woke up with a better-made hand holding pocket queens and eliminated her in tenth place.

Lau would continue his streak of final table elimination not long after his first, as Jose Pereira ran his ace-seven into Lau's pocket tens to send the former home in ninth place.

A few hands after players returned from a break, another player exited as Steven Petitte jammed from the small blind after a Nate Lindquist all-in raise from middle position. Petitte waited patiently to make a move at the final table and woke up with a hand holding ace-queen while Lindusit held pocket nines. The board wouldn't run out in Petitte's favor, and he was the eighth-place finisher.

After some chip exchanges and a 75-minute dinner break, the next elimination would occur when Lindquist got all his chips in the middle. After an early Ramdin raise, Lindquist shoved with ace-queen and was snapped off by Ramdin holding big slick. Lindquist was dominated but saw a glimmer of light after flopping a flush draw. Unfortunately for him, it turned dark as he bricked both the turn and river to give him a seventh-place finish worth $9,423.

Start-of-day chipleader Po Ying finished 6th for $12,283

Next up saw the start-of-day chip leader Po Ying take a massive hit from Lau with both players turning a flush. As Lau held the better of it, Ying was left with just 75,000 in chips. Ying would find a double the very next hand but would lose it just as fast after his pocket queens were out-flopped by the pocket nines of Weng's sending him out in sixth place $12,283.

The final elimination happened just hands after the last. Dwayne Allen moved all of his chips to the middle after the flop holding ace-six. He was snapped off by Ramdin holding ace-eight. Both players had flopped an ace, but Ramdin had the better of it as there was also an eight on the board to give him two-pair. Allen was drawing to a chop or needed running sixes, but it wouldn't happen, and he happily took his fifth-place finish for $16,310.

The remaining four players agreed to a chop, and the tournament wrapped right after.
