The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) heads Down Under for the second time in its illustrious history from Nov. 14 through Dec. 9, and it calls The Star Sydney home during those dates.

Fourteen events are on the action-packed schedule, each one awarding its champion a coveted WSOPC ring and, for the first time, featuring a guaranteed prize pool. Total up those guarantees and you come to an impressive total of AU$5,140,000.

PokerNews Live Reporting team is joining the WSOPC at The Star Sydney and bringing you coverage from four of the biggest events. First up is Event #8: AU$5,000 Challenge from Nov. 28. This event has a AU$1 million guaranteed prize pool. Matthew Wakeman is the reigning champion having outlasted 215 opponents in last years tournament to bank AU$256,496.

Following the AU$5,000 Challenge is the AU$2.2 million guaranteed Main Event, the tournament everyone wants to win. Featuring four starting flights, this AU$2,200 buy-in affair will attract some of the best poker players on the planet. Alex Lynskey is the man who won its ring last year, topping a field of 1,191 entries to scoop a cool AU$422,796.

Next up for your reporting needs is the AU$1,650 Pot Limit Omaha 6-handed event with its AU$240,000 guaranteed prize pool. This is AU$150 cheaper than last years edition that saw Danny Huynh come out on top of a 170-strong field to bank AU$78,548.

Rounding off PokerNews coverage is the action from the AU$20,000 High Roller that starts Dec. 4. This tournament last year saw 50 players buy in and play for a share of AU$950,000. The Star Sydney has slapped a AU$1 million guarantee on this years event so expect the winner to secure a larger payout than the AU$356,250 Luke Martinelli won in 2018.
