Sam Soverel is the overall 2019 Poker Masters champion and is a worthy one after he took down the tour's final event, Event #10: $50,000 No-Limit Holdem Main Event, and the series famous purple jacket.

This latest high roller victory was Soverels seventh cash of the 2019 Poker Masters and the $680,000 he won from it boosted his winnings for the festival to an astonishing $1,396,800.

A total of 34 entries were processed in the 2019 Poker Masters Main Event, each costing $50,000. As can be imagined, a tournament of this magnitude attracted some of the worlds greatest players. The list of players who failed in their quest to reach the top five finishing positions, where the prize money was awarded, read like a whos who of poker.

The likes of Matthias Eibinger, Dan Smith, Nick Schulman, Igor Kurganov, Alex Foxen, Anthony Zinno, Ben Heath, David Peters, and Bryn Kenney were just a handful of those names. Soverel also busted, at the hands of Kahle Burns, but reentered and made it to the six-handed final table, locking up the purple jacket as both Burns and Chance Kornuth were eliminated at that point.

Ali Imsirovic was the player who busted on the bubble, his sixth-place finish being the last not to award any prize money. Imsirovics top pair top kicker couldnt hold against Stephen Chidwicks straight and flush draws.

Seth Davies crashed out when his queens ran into the kings of the unstoppable Soverel before Chidwick suffered the same fate as Davies, running pocket queens into the kings in the hand of Chris Big Huni Hunichen.

Former World Series of Poker Europe Main Event champion Elio Fox then busted in third place when he was on the wrong side of a full house versus better full house scenario. It was, of course, Soverel who took down Fox.

Soverel held a dominating chip advantage over Hunichen and had four times as many chips when the final hand took place. That final hand saw Soverel shove with queen-ten and Hunichen take the coinflip with pocket deuces. Soverel paired his queen, busted Hunichen and took down the 2019 Poker Masters Main Event.

A delighted Soverel spoke to the Poker Central team shortly after his victory and said, Its exciting to win. I just like being in action all the time and when you win you get to play the longest. A lot of the guys I thought were really good I saw make mistakes online recently and I actually think now that the playing field is a lot more level than I originally thought.

Soverel will no doubt be back in action very soon as players flock to The Bahamas as part of the partypoker LIVE Caribbean Poker Party. The first $250,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl to take place in the Caribbean is scheduled from November 16th, plus there is a $25,500 Super High Roller, a $10,300 MILLIONS High Roller, a $50,000 Short Deck event, and the $10 million guaranteed MILLIONS Main Event.
