It was an impressive start to the partypoker POWERFEST for all involved, with several events getting underway to get the festival up and running.

There was a good weekend for partypoker Sponsored Pro Joao Simao who final tabled two events, and "SpanishFly" who took down the largest prize of the opening day's action!

Event #2 of the partypoker POWERFEST was the biggest three-figure buy-in event of the weekend, attracting 2,100 entrants and more than doubling the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. Of this massive field, just 280 players would be assured a cash of $216.30.

New partypoker Team Online member Travis ��dramaticdegen�� Darroch was one of them (200th - $243,60) along with fellow pro Lui Martins (159th - $285,60).

The final eight players featured another team pro in the shape of Joao Simao, but the Brazilian would have to settle for second place and $24,717 behind "iRolledlow" who took home $35,070 for his POWERFEST victory.

The marquee event on the first Sunday of the partypoker POWERFEST festival was the $5,200 Super High Roller. The event almost doubled the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool after 208 players entered generating a prize pool of $943,400.

And after over 11 hours it was "SpanishFly" who triumphed securing himself $192,359.26 after beating out a final table that included partypoker Team Online's Jeff Gross who finished seventh for $29,254.40.

Progressive Bounty Tournaments are among some of the most exciting tournaments around online at the moment, and the first day of the POWERFEST featured several in both No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha variants.

There were several partypoker Sponsored Pros at the business end of proceedings in Event #08-HR, with no fewer than four of them making the money along with taking home their bounty winnings. Jeff Gross (23rd - $2,512,50 + 525) and Ludovich "Gr4vyBo4t" Geilich (14th - $2,974.80 + $2,100) both performed well, and while Patrick Leonard (9th - $3,577.80 + $2,362.50) missed out on the final table, Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov (4th - $17,068 + $10,499.99) did manage to secure a seat at the final table.
