Ramos discusses everything from having fun at Spin & Gold tables to securing High Roller Week success

Here at PokerNews, we love to hear players and ambassadors talk at length about their passion for poker and their enjoyment of the game. It doesn't take much for GGPoker's charismatic Brazilian ambassador Felipe Ramos to get started, as he talks all about his favourite aspects of the GGPoker client.

He talks all about the exciting new Spin & Golds on offer, and how he's been known to dabble in the All In or Fold tables. And he takes great pride in talking about streaming his GGPoker High Roller Week in front of his adoring fans!

We first asked how Felipe Ramos and his wife and fellow poker player Natalie Hof were doing in these uncertain times.

"I am doing really good, enjoying times at home with my wife and our newborn, despite all the terrible situation going with the world and all of us," said Ramos. "It's very sad about the virus spreading. It's such a serious deal, but some people are acting like it's nothing! That's why it's gotten so bad already in so many places in the world."

One side effect is that online poker traffic has risen noticeably, and Ramos has noticed that a good number of players are turning to online poker for the very first time.

"It is clear to me that most of the players joining now are recreationals, people that now have free time to play, others that used to play a lot and for last some pros that were focusing exclusively or more on the live grind."

The GGMasters and achieving a 'Poker Dream'

The GGMasters is the jewel in the crown of the GGPoker Sunday schedule, with its $500,000 guarantee offering players the chance at life-changing money through any number of its weekly satellites. What's more, throughout the year poker players are competing on a leaderboard where the winner will receive a GGPoker sponsorship worth up to $500,000, something that Ramos finds "simply amazing."

"The GGMasters is simply amazing. I think GG brought back to life the Poker Dream, this term that we used to refer to in the 2000's - play poker for a living. To play for high a guarantee prizepool with only $150 buy-in and no reentry/add-on it is just pure poker. I love freezout tournaments.

"GG brought back to life the poker dream!"

"It is very hard to become a poker pro nowadays because the competition is really tough and money plays a big part of it. Having a shot at this leaderboard gives players that opportunity, and playing in the same conditions as everyone else makes this tourney the best event on the entire internet right now."

GGPoker Spin & Gold

Spin & Golds Bring the Fun

Ramos might be battling hard in the weekly GGMasters, but he's also enjoying the new content that has appeared on the GGPoker client, including the jackpot sit and go's 'Spin & Gold.'

"I love the Spin & Golds," admitted Ramos. "Mining gold for an extra cashback is a really good idea. GG is offering the best games and deals to the players, but first of all, the software is really the best and its a lot of fun to play with all the cool features it has to offer.

He went on to say that each game on the client has its on vibe, cashback and promotions, and on top of everything else the Fish Buffet is the official cashback program, offering players the chance of earning up to 100% cashback.

"I love to play all games and have fun!"

"GG has games for all tastes and I am an all-around player, I love to play all games and have fun, from the All in or Fold tables with the bingo feature for a crazy sweat, to the PLO Cash Games, where I can run it three times or select to insure my hand if I want to."

PokerNews has previously gone into depth with the GGPoker staking tool, and Ramos admits that by selling shares in his own tournaments he's able to generate hype among his community who love to sweat his results and build their bankrolls off the back of Ramos's own success.

"It really represents an opportunity to the poker community and helps them to get on to bigger events, especially because GG takes absolutely nothing from this. I sell a lot of action every week to fans that like to sweat me live in my Twitch channel and a lot of the times with little or no mark-up, to help players build their bankrolls.

"This experience is really cool and everyone loves it."

Success During High Roller Week

The High Roller Week at GGPoker has been very successful, according to Ramos, not least because he got his hands on a title, winning the Daily $1k Main Event and making numerous other final tables. In fact, Ramos sold 40% of the action in his won to the fans!

Ramos says the live stream vibe was "incredible," especially as he had helped schedule 18 freerolls across the weekend to raise awareness for players to stay home and safe because of coronavirus.

"Also, players in the High Roller week are donating 0.5% of their buy-ins to help the cause and GG is matching all donations. The poker community is really powerful I am really proud to be a part of it. Couldn't be happier to be part of the GG family and help a little bit the company to strive.

"I believe GG has an amazing team, very committed to bring the best experience to the players and I am very blessed to work with such a team."

Upcoming GGSeries

Now with the $50m GTD GGSeries announced, Ramos has set his sights on a new goal.

"It starts this Sunday," said Ramos, who is clearly motivated by the GGSeries. "Player of the year will be mine!!"
