The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) online bracelet events began at the beginning of July and will run through September 6th. It is comprised of 85 WSOP gold bracelets on the digital felt across two different clients: WSOP.com and GG Poker.

Each week, well highlight those players who rise to the top through their performance, be it a dominating one in a single event, or an exhibition of consistency over several tournaments. Heres a look at the POTWs thus far:

Julian Julian Parmann Dominates for Three Days of Play

Originally from Michigan, Julian Julian Parmann now resides in Las Vegas with his wife and two young daughters. Hes been a professional poker player for the past 14 years, and according to HendonMob, he has $980,026 in live tournament earnings including a career-best $164,086 for finishing 41st in the 2015 WSOP Main Event.

In regards to the online bracelet events, Parmann has been playing since the start and early on finished 88th in Event #2: $1,000 NLH 8-Handed Deepstack for $1,833. Nine days later, he took 18th in Event #11: $500 NLH Turbo Deepstack 6-Handed for $4,794, and the very next day placed 234th in Event #12: $500 BIG 500 for $983.

Parmann was grinding on the fringe and then hit his stride over a three-day period last week. It started when he finished second in Event #16: $500 NLH Turbo (1,528 entries) for $71,648, ultimately finishing runner-up to Terrell Heezahustla Cheatham for $116,204.

In that tournament, Parmann got his last 10 big blinds in holding ace-three suited and was ahead of Cheathams ace-deuce. Parmann was primed to either double or chop, but in this particular hand he would actually lose as a deuce appeared on the flop.

The following day, he was back at the final table in Event #17: $777 NLH after navigating a 1,382-entry field to finish in eighth place for $16,833. Amazingly, on Saturday he nearly made three final tables in a row, though he fell a bit short finishing 15th out of 987 entries in Event #18: $1,000 NLH 8-Handed Turbo DeepStack for $7,876.

Parmann very well may have made the final table had he not gotten unlucky in the final hand when he got his short stack all in preflop with king-five and was up against Matthew EarvinMagic Parrys six-three. A six hit the flop and just like that Parmanns three-day heater came to an end.

Notable Mention C Scott BudLightLime Hempel

Admittedly, Canadas Scott BudLightLime Hempel could very well have taken the top spot in this article. Like Parmann, he made back-to-back final tables, but unlike Parmann, he was able to close one out.

Hempels run actually began in Event #16: $500 NLH Turbo when he finished 75th for $1,306. The following day, he took seventh out of 1,382 runners in Event #17: $777 NLH for $22,250, and the day after that he closed it out by topping a 987-entry field to win Event 18: $1,000 NLH 8-Handed Turbo DeepStack for $181,060.

As a bonus, the poker world hasnt heard the last from Hempel. Thats because he is a part of the WPT L.A. Poker Classic Main Event final table, which is currently on hiatus due to the pandemic. It was originally supposed to play out back in April at the HyperX Esports Arena at the Luxor Hotel & Casino, and he stands to win $1 million if he can close that one out (hes guaranteed at least $185,330).

Notable Mention C Dave DunningKrugr Alfa

Dave Alfa

In the 2013 WSOP Main Event, Mark Newhouse finished in ninth place for $733,224. Amazingly, he was back in the November Nine the following year C one of the WSOPs most amazing accomplishments C and had some chips. In a cruel twist of fate, Newhouse was the first to fall and destined for back-to-back ninth-place finishes.

In the 2020 WSOP Online series, Dave DunningKrugr Alfa topped the streak of ninth-place finishes with three in a row. It started in Event #41: $3,200 High Roller (496 entries) for $22,316, and then he did it three days later in Event #17: $777 NLH (1,382 entries) for $12,963.

One day later, Event #18: $1,000 NLH 8-Handed Turbo DeepStack attracted 987 runners and wound up finishing in ninth place yet again for $12,846.
