Opening flights for the Superstorm Main Event are underway with thus far 807 entrants (including 101 inflight re-entries) already hopping into the action in hopes for a lion's share of the at least $1 million guaranteed in the prize pool.
A total of 117 players and counting have thus far virtually bagged a stack with many more to come. Brazil's "vitola99" has kept the chip lead since our last updates on Monday and Wednesday after growing his 10,000 opening chip stack into a monster stack of 227,527 in chips.
There were no changes in the top 10 players on the leaderboard with none of the 11 players that survived the opening flights the past two days finishing near the top of the Day 2 chip counts.
Barely holding onto a top 10 spot on the leaderboard is former top-ranked online tournament player in the world in Chile's Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro and is a formidable opponent regardless of whether he is pushed slightly down the leaderboard by the time Day 2 kicks off.
Here is a look at the top 10 players on the leaderboard thus far with many more opening flights to come.

The Main Event provides plenty of action with 20-minute blind levels on Day 1. Opening flights end the sooner of 12 blind levels in the books or the field trimmed down to 14 percent of its starting size.
The next opening flight takes place on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. GMT / 3 p.m. EDT. There are plenty of satellites for players to qualify for pennies on the dollars along with many paths for players to get their tickets for free.
Surviving players will return for one final day of play on Sunday, Oct. 11 when all of the action will be reported under the watchful eye of the PokerNews Live Reporting team.
