The $5,250 buy-in Battle of Malta High Roller Championship saw 495 players take to the GGPoker felt and created a $2,475,000 prize pool, almost half a million dollars more than the advertised $2 million guarantee.

Former WSOP Main Event champion Ryan Riess was the unfortunate soul who burst the money bubble, paving the way for a cash of at least $11,454 for the remaining 71 players.

The likes of Chris Moorman, Samuel Vousden, Stephen Chidwick, Mikita Badziakouski, Fedor Holz, Rainer Kempe, Adrian Mateos, Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Kristen Bicknell were among the in-the-money finishers.

Damian Salas busted in 10th place to set the official final table where everyone would take home at least $36,462.

That sum went to the first of two Israelis who reached the final table, namely natykkk. Norways CharlieD23 finished in eighth for $49,744 before Israels kukuriko fell in seventh for $67,864.

Dario Sammartino collected $92,584 when his tournament ended abruptly in sixth-place. This was the last prize not to weigh in at six-figures.

Triple Crown winner Davidi Kitai banked $126,309 for a fifth-place finish with Rissian star JokerFace scooping $172,318 when they became the next player to fall by the wayside.

Canadas Kyle Menards exit in third place earned him $235,088 and sent the tournament into the heads-up stage. This pitted Darren Elias and Bert Stevens against each other in a one-on-one battle where the difference in prize money was $117,000!

Elias may have a record four WPT titles, but he couldnt win this event. That honor went to Stevens who got his hands on $320,721 after firing three bullets. Stevens, on his initial buy-in, reeled in the $437,548 top prize and the title of champion.
