Diego Ventura Leads the Final Table in the CPP Main Event

Just nine players remain out of a big field of 1,037 entrants in the 2020 Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event held online at partypoker with a familiar face in the lead.

Diego Ventura ended Day 1b and Day 2 as the chip leader, and today, he will enter the final table as the clear chip leader.

Ventura will kick off tonight's action at 7:05 p.m. GMT with a stack north of 300 million chips. This is well clear of Grayson Ramage in second place who has 193 million.

Ramage had quite the day yesterday as not only did he advance to the final table in the Main Event with a healthy stack, but also managed a podium third-place finish in the Mini Main Event to bank $57,160.

There's also a place at the final table for partypoker's Isaac Haxton, fresh from a third-place finish in the Caribbean Poker Party 04: $25,500 Super High Roller for $253,130.

Fellow partypoker Ambassador Anatoly Filatov also had a deep run but bubbled the final table in 10th place for $52,887 in the last hand of the day.

The final nine players have each locked up at least $65,331. The payouts increase quickly from there with the eventual winner slated to earn a massive payday of $879,894.

Carribbean Poker Party Main Event Winners

The partypoker CPP Main Event is now in its fifth year. The event debuted in 2016 when Troy Quenneville outlasted a field of 526 entrants to win the $400,000.

A year later, Sam Greenwood became the first seven-figure winner in this event after navigating through a field of 1,061 entrants to win a cool $1,000,000.

Felipe Oliveira currently has the honor of winning the biggest CPP Main Event prize. In 2018, he bested a field of 1,815 entrants to win $1,500,000.

Another big name won the Main Event last year in Adrian Mateos, who banked $879,895 after finishing on top of a 948-entrant field.

Juan Pardo Dominguez leads the CPP High Roller final table.

In other news, Juan Pardo Dominguez leads the final seven players in the CPP $10,300 High Roller with a stack of nearly 38 million in chips when the action resumes today at 7:05 p.m. GMT.

The event attracted 111 entrants to generate a $1,110,000 prize pool. This smashed the $1,000,000 guarantee slapped on the event. The first day ended after three big names hit the rail in Laurynas Levinskas, Pascal Hartmann, and Joseph Cheong.

While Dominguez is in the driver's seat he potentially has a long road ahead of him with big names just behind him at the final table including Jonathan Van Fleet (26,366,612), Pascal Lefrancois (15,432,164), and Mark Radoja (15,102,844).

Lefrancois is a player to keep a close eye on as he is eyeing his second title this festival after previously shipping the CPP Super High Roller for $585,175.
