Super MILLION$ Week kicked off at GGPoker on February 28 and Jans Arends got off to the perfect start by taking down the Sunday 500 Special Edition for a colossal $302,271.
Some 209 of the worlds best poker tournament players bought into the Event #5: Sunday 500 Special Edition for $5,250 and created a massive $1,495,000 prize pool. This princely sum was distributed among the top 44 finishers, a min-cash weighing in at $8,968.
Daniel Dvoress was the first superstar to help themselves to a cash prize. Other luminaries including Dan Smith, Ole Schemion, Mike Watson, Andras Nemeth, Michael Addamo, poker power couple Alex Foxen and Kristen Bicknell, and Steve ODwyer saw a healthy return on their initial investment.
All nine finalists were guaranteed more than $30,000 for their efforts, but with more than $300,000 awaiting the champion, $30,000 looked like pocket change.
Brazils Pablo Brito Silva fell in ninth for $30,277 before Kenneth Smaron and Nick Petrangelo crashed and burned. That talented duo walked away with $40,308 and $53,752 respectively.
Farid Jattin and Ankush Mandavia were the next casualties, the latter picking up $95,586 only days after taking down the CPPT Venetian event in Las Vegas for $260,000.
Johan Haugen from Macau collected the first six-figure prize of the tournament. Haugens fourth-place exit resulting in $127,466 making its way to his GGPoker account. Heads-up was set when easy game1 fell by the wayside in third place, a result worth $169,980.
Heads-up pitted Arends against Viachelsav Buldygin in what was essentially a $75,600 heads-up sit & go. No deal was struck, however, meaning Buldygin had to make do with the $226,671 consolation prize when Arends defeated him heads-up. Arends banked $302,271 for his impressive victory.

Tomas Ribeiro Secures a $232,274 Score in the PLO High Roller
$10,300 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments are something of a rarity, especially in the online poker world, but one took place at GGPoker as part of the Super MILLION$ week. Ninety-seven players bought in and Brazils Tomas Ribeiro outlasted them all.
Victory in this event came with a $232,274 prize, which is phenomenal for a PLO tournament. The three places who busted in second-through-fourth walked away with six-figure prizes, too.
Thomas Hueber got his hands on $106,421 for his fourth-place finish with James Park collected $138,044. Connor Drinan was the tournaments runner-up, which came with $179,064 in prize money.

Andrii Novak Crowned High Roller Big Game Champion
Ukrainian superstars Andrii Novak added the $2,600 High Roller Big Game to his long list of tournament successes. His latest victory earned him an impressive $73,578. Novaks prize would have been larger had he not struck a deal with Russias Viktor Ustimov when heads-up, a deal that saw Ustimov reel in a $71,892 haul.
The final table of the High Roller Big Game is usually stacked with elite pros and this weeks was no different.
Timothy Adams, Team partypoker duo Jason Koon and Joni Jouhkimainen, Dario Sammartino, and even cash game specialist Wiktor Malinowski were present and correct at the final table. The night, however, belonged to Novak who became a worthy champion.
