Joyner, Weissman Chop $1,600 Wynn Spring Classic $1M Gtd. Event
The Wynn Spring Classic closed up shop on a successful series on Monday, exceeding a couple of seven-figure guarantees in its marquee events.
The first $1 million guarantee, the $3,500 Championship, was covered live here on PokerNews and ended with Sung Joo Hyun and Matthias Auer chopping things up after an entertaining final table.
On Monday, the final trophy was lifted, as Will Joyner (pictured above) and Joey Weissman made a heads-up deal in the $1,600 No-Limit Hold'em that also had a $1 million guarantee. The former got the heftier prize with $243,188 to Weissman's $230,090, and consequently gained the title of champion.

Joyner and Weissman got through a field of 1,251 that accumulated over three starting days to produce a prize pool of $1,820,205.
For Joyner, the score doubles all of his previous cashes combined, according to The Hendob Mob.
The more experienced Weissman earned his seventh six-figure score and added to more than $3 million in cashes, with this one getting second billing only to his 2012 bracelet win.
Others cashing among the 135 paid places included Marle Cordeiro, Eric Baldwin, Nick Schulman, Shannon Shorr, Jordan Cristos and Jeremy Ausmus.
