Vogelsang Wins partypoker Powerfest POWERFEST #19: $25,500 Super High Roller ($469,691)
A total of 58 players entered the second Powerfest $25,500 Super High Roller, the biggest buy-in tournament of the festival.
Making it to the seven-handed final table guaranteed a player $69,634, but there were a total of nine players in the money with Joao Vieira and Matthias Eibinger receiving $63,075.
Place | Player | Country | Prize (USD) |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Christoph Vogelsang | United Kingdom | $469,691 |
2 | Sami Kelopuro | Finland | $288,469 |
3 | Pascal Lefrancois | Canada | $188,132 |
4 | Shawn Daniels | Canada | $130,438 |
5 | David Peters | Canada | $96,574 |
6 | Teun Mulder | Netherlands | $80,909 |
7 | Linus Loeliger | Austria | $69,634 |
Linus Loeliger and Teun Mulder both bust early, eliminated by Sami Kelopuro and Shawn Daniels respectively. Mulder's elimination was particularly brutal, flopping middle pair with J?10? on Q?J?6?, only for Daniels to go runner-runner with 7?7? to make a flush on the 8?3? runout.
The big names were everywhere in this tournament, as Daniels then sent David Peters to the rail. However, despite eliminating two players so far at the final table, Daniels was next to be eliminated as his 2?2? ran into the 8?8? of Pascal Lefrancois
The chain continued, with Lefrancois next to go at the hands of eventual runner-up Kelopuro.
With Lefrancois holding Q?J? and Kelopuro Q?8? the Q?10?8? gave the Canadian top pair, whilst handing the Finn top and bottom pair. Lefrancois check-called 192,000 on the flop before check-raising all in on the turn 3?. Kelopuro called and held on the 3? river to secure the elimination of Lefrancois.
A short while later, Christoph Vogelsang would double through Kelopuro and hold on for victory, the title along with $469,691.
