2021 WPT Online Series Includes $3M GTD Main Event; Two Massive WPT500 Events

The World Poker Tour returns to partypoker this May for the WPT Online Series.

The WPT Online Series runs from May 14 until June 2, 2021.

The festival follows in the footsteps of the 2020 WPT Online Series and the hugely successful WPT World Online Championships, with a $3,000,000 GTD Main Event scheduled for this May.

Chris Donnachie, partypoker��s Head of Poker Room Management he was thrilled to have the opportunity to run the festival again.

"The inaugural WPT Online Series back in 2020 was the first purposely-designed WPT festival to be run fully online at partypoker and we��re thrilled to have the opportunity to do this all over again.

"The Main Event is complimented by an extensive range of exciting events such as the Mini Main Event and not one, but two of the world-renowned WPT500 events."

Alias Changes

The site has been making last-minute preparations ahead of the festival, including an Alias change which will come into effect from Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

This is the second time partypoker has implemented an alias change, after players were required to change their aliases back in June 2019. Alias changes form part of partypoker's investment in game integrity, and is something that partypoker Director Vadim Soloveychik believes will ensure that the game is fair and safe for all players.

"Asking players to change their aliases is one of the important measures to keep the game fair and safe for all our players.

"I want to thank all the players who proactively report the new players�� tracking and game aid tools that appear on the market every now and then to our Game Integrity Team. Your proactive support means a lot to us and shows that we are doing the right thing."

Key Events

With the WPT Online Series just days away, here is a quick run-down of some events you simply must not miss!

Main Event

The $3,200 Main Event comes with a whopping $3,000,000 and gets underway with Day 1A on Sunday, May 23. Day 1B takes place the following Sunday, May 30, with play continuing until a winner is crowned on Wednesday, June 2.

The winner will not only walk away with a huge cash prize and the title of Main Event champion, their name will be engraved on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup and they will receive a replica of the trophy. They will also be rewarded with a Hublot watch.

As well as the Main Event, there is also a $500,000 GTD Mini Main Event (buy-in $530) and the $150,000 GTD Micro Main Event (buy-in $55) for players to enter. Just head to the partypoker client to find out more.

WPT500

partypoker hosted two WPT500 events back in March, and they will form part of the WPT Online Series festival. In March, Dylan Rowe triumphed in the WPT500 while Armin Rezaei took down the WPT500 Knockout, and both formats will come with $1,000,000 guarantees.

WPT Online Series High Rollers

There will be a total of six $10,000+ buy-in events as part of the 2021 WPT Online Series, with three $25,500 buy-in events. Each of the six events comes with a $1,000,000 guarantee, with some of the biggest names in online poker expected to enter.

Each event is a two-day event, with recaps available in the PokerNews live reporting hub.
