Wynn Fall Classic Kicks Off Unique $2 Million GTD Mystery Bounty on Monday

The 2021 Wynn Fall Classic, on Monday, will launch one of the most exciting tournaments in Las Vegas this month �� the $2,200 buy-in, $2,000,000 GTD Mystery Bounty, a no-limit hold'em tournament with a few surprises.
Wynn, one of the top poker rooms in Las Vegas, hosted the same tournament this past summer, and it was a hit.
The event, which cost $1,600 to enter the first time, attracted 1,518 players, generating a prize pool of $2,201,100. Uri Reichenstein won it, along with the Wynn replica trophy, for $217,948.
Jay Kavoor won the top mystery bounty prize of $100,000, which PokerNews captured in a video posted to YouTube. His subdued reaction to winning life-changing money (to some) was discussed on social media.

How it Works
Players in the Mystery Bounty, which is part of the Wynn Fall Classic series, have a chance to win money beyond the standard prize pool, but not in the same way as a traditional bounty tournament. Day 1a kicks off at noon PT on October 11 from inside the luxurious Las Vegas Strip resort.
There will be two additional Day 1 starting flights, one on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday. Each player starts with 30,000 chips and the blind levels will increase every 40 minutes.
On Day 2 (Thursday, October 14 at noon), the bounty portion of the tournament begins. Upon busting a player, the individual with the winning hand can select from a container full of envelopes, each with a random bounty value ranging from $500 to $250,000. One lucky player will take home the top prize.
Mystery bounty denominations are as follows: $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, and $250,000. The lower denominations will appear in a majority of the envelopes, as you probably guessed. But a number of players will pull a significant amount of money.
